Flashback: That Time Biden Said Schools in Iowa Do Better Than DC Because of Low Black Population

BidenGaffes™. Hardly a thing, given Brandon’s long and legendary history of making them in spectacular fashion. That said, I figured since it’s the Holiday Season, why not fire up the Wayback Machine and enjoy one of his more memorable racist gaffes? Think of it as a gift from your humble pundit.

An awesome gaffe that came back and bit Joe in the butt during the 2020 presidential campaign.

As noted by Daily Wire, when Biden was asked by the Washington Post in 2007 about the discrepancy in school performance in Iowa compared to schools in Washington, D.C., he cited the high population of Blacks and other minorities in the nation’s capital.

In response to the question, hapless Biden waxed poetic,  as only he can do. Yup. The bottom line, in just five words: Fewer black people in Iowa.

There’s less than one percent of the population of Iowa that is African American. There is probably less than four of five percent that are minorities. What is in Washington? So look, it goes back to what you start off with, what you’re dealing with.

So, what are you saying, Joe?

Biden being Biden, when he’s in a hole, he keeps digging — faster and deeper.

When you have children coming from dysfunctional homes, when you have children coming from homes where there’s no books, where the mother from the time they’re born doesn’t talk to them — as opposed to the mother in Iowa who’s sitting out there and talks to them, the kid starts out with a 300 word larger vocabulary at age three. Half this education gap exists before the kid steps foot in the classroom.

Clean-up on aisle six.

As is still the case 14 years later, Biden’s staff rushed to clean up his mess immediately after he made it. According to a CNN report published shortly after Biden’s comments, the Biden “campaign quickly sought to clarify the remarks, saying in a statement that the senator was not making a ‘race-based distinction,’ but rather a ‘socio-economic’ one.”

How do can I put this, tactfully? What a complete crock of crap. Biden’s racist comments have been well documented.

From his “slight Indian accent” blast during the 2008 presidential campaign…

To his “awful lot of Somalis driving cabs” effort…

To his “We choose truth over facts!” declaration, and beyond.

And consistent throughout Biden’s decades of gaffedom have been the racist comments, the most recent memorable nonsensical effort being his infamous You ain’t Black shot at Black voters during the 2020 presidential campaign, suggesting Blacks, solely because of the color of their skin, are beholden to live on the liberal plantation, no questions asked.

And when conservative Blacks refuse to do so? They are to be castigated, which is exactly what Biden did in his comments.

And who can forget Biden saying:

“I spent last summer going through the black sections of my town trying to get black men to understand it’s not unmanly to wear a condom [and] getting Black women to understand they can say no.”

Joe Biden. The gift that keeps on giving. To conservatives.

Some things  — and people named Joe Biden — never change. Thankfully.
