I missed most of President Trump’s post-acquittal address because I was outside shoveling snow. And from what I did see, it looks like I missed a rollicking good time. Damn snow.
The folks who didn’t think it was a rollicking good time are the reporters who sat glumly as the assembled audience laughed and applauded. And what was their biggest gripe?
Trump wasn’t contrite.
Hard to believe, ain’t it?
See, they expected Trump to do what Bill Clinton did after he was acquitted – namely, go before the American people and apologize.
Can you believe the only people he apologized to was his family?! Why isn’t Trump contrite?! Clinton was contrite?! But no! Trump refuses to apologize to anybody but his family!!!

This morning, USA Today published a piece titled “In 1999, Bill Clinton was ‘humbled’ by impeachment. Now, Donald Trump unloads on a ‘phony, rotten deal.’”
In it, they echo Manu’s incredulity that the only people President Trump apologized to was his family.
You know, the family who has been put through all manner of attacks, investigations, slander and harassment for three solid years by the people who really do owe the American people an apology.
Interesting that these idiots fail to point out that, unlike Bill Clinton who was impeached for having committed actual crimes, President Trump’s impeachment cited no crime.
When even the vengeful and vicious Democrat House can’t cite a single crime the President committed, what is there for him to be contrite over?
He should be contrite for not breaking the law? Contrite for having been acquitted for not breaking the law?
Honestly, these people.
Expecting President Trump to apologize for this attempt to destroy him is like expecting a victim of a brutal assault to apologize to his assaulter.
But it isn’t just the President’s lack of contrition that bothers them.
It’s the fact that their whole sordid sham backfired and President Trump has been vindicated.
Because of this monumental error in judgment on the part of the media and the vindictive Democrats, Americans are more supportive of President Trump and the Republicans today than they were in September.
You don’t think that pisses them off?
But rather than entertain any self-reflection, they petulantly stamp their feet and complain because President Trump took a victory lap.
I said way back in 2015 that if you take aim at a rampaging elephant, you best not miss.
The media, the FBI, the CIA, low-level bureaucrats in the State Department, and the Democrats in Congress all took aim at Trump. And they didn’t just miss, they ended up shooting themselves instead – which is exactly what I knew would happen from the very beginning. That’s why I used this image:

They dragged the country through a pointless, politically partisan hit-job that was destined to end in acquittal, and they want Trump to be contrite?
It really bothers these people that Trump won’t just lie down and grovel after their endless, unfounded attack on him fails spectacularly.
This attitude explains why they’re writing love sonnets to Mitt Romney today.
Romney, you see, cares about what the media think of him. He can’t stand the thought of conflict or fighting back. For crying out loud, he got spanked by Candy Crowley during a debate and collapsed like a badly-made soufflé.
A “President” Romney would have been contrite. He would’ve groveled for forgiveness for his part in being the victim of such a political assassination.
These guys are so used to Republicans who cave that Trump’s unwillingness to play the game infuriates them to no end.
“He should show that he’s learned his lesson!!!” They whined after his rollicking address.
But he has learned a lesson. We all have, actually. And the lesson is the Democrats and their media handmaids will stop at nothing to destroy this man even if they have to lie, cheat, break the law, or burn down our Republic to do it.
The only people here who have learned nothing are the Democrats and the media.
It’s been four and a half years since Donald Trump first announced his run for the White House and these idiots still do not understand that Trump won’t take this kind of BS lying down.

Fact is, President Trump has nothing to be contrite about.
If anyone should be contrite today, it is the Democrat Party and their media handmaids.
But they won’t be.
They don’t care that they put the American people through a prolonged, endless witch hunt based on hearsay, lies and paid opposition research.
They don’t care that they wasted millions of dollars in taxpayer money to orchestrate a coup against the President of the United States.
They don’t care that they’ve damaged the trust Americans have in Congress, in the FBI, and in the institutions that are sworn to uphold our Constitution.
But they’re not contrite.
And they’re not done.
These assholes will just keep gunning for Trump – and for all of us — because they haven’t learned a damn thing.
