Article by Spencer Neale in "The Washington Examiner":

Donald Trump Jr. thanked House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff for "unearthing who all needed to be fired."

Trump Jr. tweeted Friday evening after his father, President Trump, pushed two top impeachment witnesses who testified against him during the House impeachment investigation out of their government roles earlier in the day.

"Allow me a moment to thank — and this may be a bit of a surprise — Adam Schiff. Were it not for his crack investigation skills, @realDonaldTrump might have had a tougher time unearthing who all needed to be fired," Trump Jr. said. "Thanks, Adam!"

On Friday afternoon, the White House ousted Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the government official who testified in the House's impeachment investigation, from the National Security Council along with his identical twin brother Yevgeny Vindman.
Hours later, U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland was recalled from his post.

Both men were witnesses during House impeachment proceedings. Their removals came days after Trump was acquitted of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress in a Senate vote.

Schiff, a California Democrat, presided over much of Trump's impeachment and led the House managers who argued their case on the Senate floor over the past two weeks. Republicans cried foul after it was revealed that a CIA analyst met with a member of Schiff's staff before filing the whistleblower complaint that sparked impeachment.
