DHS Head Mayorkas Rewrites History, Claiming 'Equity' Is 'Core Founding Principle of Our Country'
So let’s pretend we had to choose a hood ornament for the Biden clown car — other than Biden or Harris. Who would get your vote? I realize it’s a tough call, and there are a multitude of factors to consider.
Attorney General Merrick Garland, whose sole upside for conservatives as Biden’s AG has been to afford us the opportunity to thank our lucky stars this guy was not confirmed for a seat on the Supreme Court?
Antony Blinken, Biden’s feckless Secretary of State? Transportation Department head Pete Buttigieg, who is far more interested in playing the role of Biden’s electric car salesman, than in solving the flight delays and cancellations by the thousands that continue to plague the travel industry?
There’s always Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, who has been far more obsessed with pretend “systemic racism” and “pronoun misgendering” than with maintaining the most bad-ass military on the planet.
Tough choice, but my vote goes to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who not only supports and defends the never-ending Biden Border Crisis™, but is also actively working to undermine the core beliefs and values of America. Where the other “nominees” are inept, this guy is a clear and present danger to the security of the United States. In my not-so-humble opinion, of course.
As reported by Breitbart, Mayoras delivered a speech to race-hustler Al Sharpton’s National Action Network convention on Friday (because of course he did), in which he claimed that “the core founding principle” of America is “equity” — as opposed to equality — and as a result, he is building an immigration system built on “equity.”
Odd. I seem to remember reading the following, somewhere.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.
Oh, wait — those words were enshrined in the Declaration of Independence by Thomas Jefferson.
Mayorkas told the mostly black audience, as transcribed by Breitbart:
It is all about achieving equity, which is really the core founding principle of our country. We, as a Department of Homeland Security, are your Department of Homeland Security as much as anyone else’s and we need to live that in the equity that we demonstrate.
Let’s stop the tape for a minute. As clearly laid out in the Declaration of Independence, equality means equal opportunity. Equal opportunity in the pursuit of happiness. That pursuit is guaranteed by the Creator, not the results. Equity, on the other hand, is the left’s latest code word for equality of outcome.
Famed Austrian economist F. A. Hayek perhaps said it best: “There is all the difference in the world between treating people equally and attempting to make them equal.” Liberals have never seen wealth — except for their own — that they haven’t tried to redistribute to those of lesser means, generally Democrat voters. That brings us to Irish playwright and political activist George Bernard Shaw, who correctly observed: “A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.”
Therein lies the very essence of the Democrat Party. Never forget: Everything the Democrat Party supports, opposes, proposes, or rejects can be connected to the voting booth with no more than two dots.
Hayek, Shaw, and Jefferson were right; Mayorkas is dead wrong, and he knows it.
Mayorkas described a minor example of equity — his efforts to help poor black communities get access to federal aid:
Just a few weeks ago, I was in Detroit, Michigan, meeting with faith leaders — predominantly African American faith leaders — talking about our grant program, our nonprofit Security Grant Program, which is designed to protect nonprofit organizations, to enable enabled them to secure themselves against an increasing threat landscape.
And what I learned was that our grant program is very complicated. It is very difficult in some respects to access. And some of these just as much in need, and perhaps in greater need of the funds that we have to distribute, don’t have the resources to [hire] a grant-applicant professional … How can we break down those barriers? … How can we build for them the capacity that they might not otherwise have?
But as Mayorkas also tweeted in August 2021, his vision of “equity” also applies to illegal aliens.
[Illegal alien i]ndividuals who are eligible will receive relief more swiftly, while those who are not eligible will be expeditiously removed. We are building an immigration system that is designed to ensure due process, respect human dignity, and promote equity.

It gets worse — or stays just as bad. Mayorkas also told Sharpton’s Network Action Network conference that white supremacists pose the greatest threat to America. How so? Via Breitbart:
The greatest terrorist-related threat that we face in the homeland is a threat of individuals drawn to violence because of ideologies of hate or false narratives propagated on social media and other online platforms. And the most prominent threat is a threat of white supremacists.
And that came quite clearly to the surface when we saw over the past several months [threats against] historically black colleges and universities. We reached out in the department to the presidents of the HBCUs and requested that we be allowed to sit around the table with them to listen to what they were confronting, to understand the gravity of the threat that they face … its impact on their communities — the communities of students — and to be able to respond as they needed us to do, to have them around the table.
Where was this jackass guy, night after night, week after week, while “peaceful protesters” torched cities across America? When at least 25 people were killed, including police officers?
As reported by Hot Air, this was not the first time that Mayorkas has made the ridiculous claim.
In May 2021, Mayorkas and Attorney General Merrick Garland testified before the Senate Appropriations Committee. At that time they both testified that their agencies needed more resources to fight domestic terrorism, pointing in particular to the events of January 6 at the Capitol. Left out of the equation by both Mayorkas and Garland was any talk of the violent social unrest that has plagued the United States since the Summer of Love organized by radical progressives.
As is the case with the entire Biden administration, from the most inept president in modern history and on down the list, these people are overtly attempting to destroy America as we know it, on multiple levels in multiple ways.
We must not let them do that — come hell or high water. That must come in the form of a strong turnout for the midterms in November, and a unified party in 2024. Like never before, all the marbles will be on the table.
