It Takes Tulsi Gabbard Just 20 Seconds to Explain Everything Wrong With Rittenhouse Trial

Sister Toldjah reporting for RedState

Former Hawaii Congresswoman and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard has never been one to shy away from wading into hot button topics and angering “her side” in the process, and the Kyle Rittenhouse case has been no exception.

As we’ve previously reported, the prosecution in the closely-watched trial has done themselves zero favors over the last few days, suffering serious setbacks such as Judge Bruce Schroeder repeatedly admonishing them over their courtroom antics, with inarguably the biggest setback being that one of the prosecution’s star witnesses admitted on the stand that Rittenhouse only shot at him after he (the witness) pointed a gun at him.

But while the trial drags on and the particulars are discussed and debated, one thing that has been made more than clear from the outset – well before the trial even started, in fact – is that there never should have been a trial in the first place.

This is a point Gabbard made eloquently in a 20-second video posted to Twitter yesterday:

“The prosecutor in this Rittenhouse trial obviously did not do his due diligence before making the decision to prosecute. This tragedy never would have happened if the government had simply carried out its responsibilities to protect the safety, lives, and property of innocent people.”

Watch:

In my opinion, it’s an inarguable point that due diligence was not done in this case. And also, that there would not even be a case at all if law enforcement had been allowed to do their jobs in Kenosha and other parts of the country instead of being forced to sit back and watch as the city they’ve sworn to protect and serve gets looted and burned to the ground by angry Antifa/Black Lives Matter-led leftist mobs.

Remember, the Kenosha mobs were already emboldened by rioters in other Democrat-run cities like Minneapolis who were allowed to run roughshod and destroy entire communities in the process as they proclaimed to champion justice for black lives, though the very nature of their “movement” to defund the police actually puts black lives in more danger. It’s self-defeating, but then again the radical left are infamous for holding such positions, because appearing “woke” is apparently more important than sensibly advocating things that would actually help the community.

Gabbard, as per the norm, was spot-on in her assessment. Not surprisingly, she triggered Twitter leftists with the inconvenient truths she dropped, the same leftists who, I should note, proclaim to be advocates for “criminal justice reform” but who outed themselves this week in a big way this week by mocking Rittenhouse and demanding he be locked up in prison with the key thrown away.

To reiterate a point I’ve made before, I guess maybe for the criminal justice reform hypocrites there are exceptions to the “we shouldn’t judge a defendant until all the facts come out” rule – and let’s hope the exception is not based on a person’s race, because that would mean some of Rittenhouse’s critics, like prominent South Carolina Democrat, attorney, and CNN commentator Bakari Sellers and House Democrat Caucus Chair Hakeem Jeffries are racists.

In any event, stay tuned for the latest developments in the Rittenhouse trial. As always, we’ve got you covered.
