Jesse Kelly’s Sky is Green theory

The System can get people to believe anything.

Yesterday, after USA today reported that the fully vaccinated comedian Chris Rock had COVID and told everyone to “Get vaccinated,” Jesse Kelly shared what he called his Sky is Green theory.

Since Jesse’s tweets automatically delete after a time, I have dutifully transcribed his Sky is Green theory for your edification. Yes, I put it in green:

The vaccinated people getting Covid and telling others to get vaccinated so they don’t get covid proves my “Sky is green theory” 1/

If you woke up tomorrow and The System decided they wanted everyone to believe the sky was green, they could do it. And in a relatively short amount of time. You laugh, but they could. 2/

Every other news story would be something about the newly discovered green sky. The entire Democratic Party would campaign on the green sky. 95% of the GOP would either go along with the green sky, or just stay silent. 3/

“Scientists” and universities relying on government grant money would put out “studies” on the green sky. Your child would have to declare it so on an exam or would be denied a degree. 4/

Movies would be made. With the sky colored green. Corporate America would have green skies in their commercials. Your favorite athlete would tell his 2 million Instagram articles about how cool the free sky is. 5/

Soon, you’d start to question yourself. You’d assume your eyes were bad. There’s no way the sky could be blue, right? After all, EVERYONE says it’s green. It must be, right? 6/

I finally get the power of propaganda. There is NOTHING you can’t convince the public of. Nothing. Coronavirus showed that to me.

That’s all.

You have to admit, he’s onto something here.

“Donald Trump called Nazis very fine people.”

“Women aren’t the only ones who can get pregnant.”

“Donald Trump told people to inject bleach.”

“Hands up; don’t shoot.”

“People are ingesting horse de-wormer.”

“January 6 was a violent insurrection to overthrow our democracy.”

“Mostly peaceful protests.”

“America was founded on white supremacy.”

How many of those statements are believed by at least half the country?

The coronavirus has killed 0.19% of the US population. But the majority of Americans polled recently believed the actual percentage of US deaths from COVID is more than ten times that size.

Why? Because for over a year and a half the media, politicians, Hollywood, medical “experts”  – the entire System as Jesse Kelly calls it – have created an alternate reality where the sky is green. Everybody is dropping dead like flies. You aren’t safe to leave your home because you might die. You can’t send your children to school because they might die, or worse kill their teachers. You can’t operate your business because it will kill people.

And the people who believed it are now advocating that the “unvaccinated” be shunned from society. They should lose their jobs. They should be barred from receiving medical treatment. They should have their children taken away from them.

Jesse is right, COVID was the biggest example of his Sky is Green theory. But, really, so was Donald Trump’s presidency. There are still people who truly do believe that Donald Trump colluded with Vladimir Putin to steal the election from Hillary. And no amount of reality can penetrate the bubble these people are in.

Sometimes all it takes is just one person to suggest that the sky is green, and within hours, it will spread like wildfire.

In fact, just yesterday, hours after Jesse presented his Sky is Green theory that yet another example blew up – namely that border patrol agents on horseback were using whips on Haitians trying to cross the border illegally.

The sky is green reins = whips

They weren’t using whips. The long straps in the photos are just the reins. But it didn’t matter. Within no time, reporters were repeating it, social media went into an uproar over it, and the White House released a condemnation of it.

JK Tweet: Sky is green theory

How on earth do you break through that kind of propaganda? Especially when the people who can still see reality and know the sky is blue are vilified as the “conspiracy theorists.”

When you try to show them the sky isn’t green but blue, the deluded cover their ears and shriek “Debunked! Debunked!”

Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams calls this the “Two Movie Reality.” We all look at the same events but we interpret them in two completely different ways.

We all see a photograph of a man on horseback trying to grab a Haitian illegal. One group sees a man using a whip on a black man. The other group sees a rider holding the reins to his horse.

As Adams explained it:

That’s how cognitive dissonance and confirmation bias work. They work together to create a spontaneous hallucination that gets reinforced over time. That hallucination becomes your reality until something changes.

The sky is green.

Now, is it possible some people know the sky isn’t green, but say so anyway just to further divide us? I’d say it’s more than possible. Those who peddle propaganda know very well that they’re peddling propaganda.

I don’t think Rachel Maddow believes one thing about the Trump/Russia conspiracy theory she peddled with wild abandon. I don’t think Adam Schiff believes a bit of it either. Nor do I think Schiff believed Trump’s phone call with Ukraine’s president was an impeachable act.

Cynicism is the mother’s milk of the System.

They don’t need to believe the sky is green. They just need you to believe it.
