Harry's and Meghan's 'Geographic Balance' as Post-National Parasitism

Harry and Meghan have begun their new careers as post-national corporate hood ornaments.  They can trade on their royal celebrity and far-left political credentials in Hollywood to pay off a multi-million-dollar debt to the British people and maintain the lavish lifestyle to which they are accustomed.

Their "take this kingdom and shove it" Instagram message of 01/08/20 expresses an adolescent insensibility to what dogs and grown-ups know about biting the hand that feeds you.  Ultimately, it amounts to a statement of narcissistic post-nationalism, a lifestyle of feeding off the greatest, blood-won nation-states without pledging allegiance to any.  Narcissistic post-nationalism is a psychological defense mechanism employed by affluent, self-satisfied progressives that protects them from performing service or sacrifice to their homeland while gilding themselves in virtuous globalism.

Meghan Markle is a poster child for religio-narcissistic post-Americanism.  Harry may find that the "best friends" marriage model with a highly entitled race-victimization princess becomes the "no true friends and no country" lifestyle.  In the "we quit" Instagram, Harry and Meghan state they will "balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America[.] ... This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter."  They can't bring themselves to use the hated letters USA.

But Harry's and Meghan's life will not be geographically balanced across even the four nations they have identified for their "exciting next step."  Their son will not take his royalty appreciation training in the slums of Mexico City, or anywhere in Mexico.  Mexico is not good feeding for post-national parasitism.  Harry's and Meghan's next chapter requires them to benefit from the blood and sacrifice of patriots of only the most free, brave, tolerant, and law-abiding nations.

When Harry and Meghan left the U.K., there was talk about who was going to pay for their security costs in Canada.  Reportedly, most Canadians said they didn't want to pick up the tab.  Armed protection for expat royals raises the questions of the cost of blood as well as that of treasure.  Why should a Canadian take a bullet for Meghan Markle?  By choosing geographic balance, Harry and Meghan have forfeited the right to protection of their lives in the name of any nation state.

The short story "The Man Without a Country" by Edward Everett Hale was published in 1863 during the American Civil War.  It is about Philip Nolan, a young Army lieutenant who bitterly renounces his country while being tried for treason as an accomplice to Aaron Burr.  The lieutenant angrily shouts from the witness stand, "I wish I may never hear of the United States again!"  The judge grants him his wish.  Nolan is sentenced to spending the rest of his life aboard U.S. warships, never to set foot in or even to hear mention of his country again.  Through the years, Nolan discovers that he misses his country more than his family or anything else in his previous life.  Toward the end of his life, while being transferred to another ship, he cries out to a young sailor, "Remember, boy, that behind all these men...there is the Country Herself, your Country, and that you belong to her as you belong to your own mother."

Harry would like to forget that the safety, security, wealth, privilege, and magnificent cultural heritage he enjoyed he owes to centuries of patriots of the United Kingdom.  It's worse with Meghan.  Certainly, she has no gratitude to the patriots of the United States or the United Kingdom.  By enabling the preposterous suggestion that she is a victim of racism!, she fosters ingratitude and disloyalty to the U.K. and USA.

As Nolan lies dying in his room that has become a shrine to the U.S. as he remembers it prior to his exile, he asks for the Presbyterian Book of Public Prayer.  He prays as he has for forty years: "Most heartily, we beseech Thee with Thy favor to behold and bless Thy servant, the President of the United States, and all others in authority."

It's safe to say Meghan Markle is not beseeching the same Lord she recently touched base with to bless her marriage and child to also bless the president of the United States.  It has become a platitude that the left hates Trump more than it loves America.  Markle has declared she will not live in the USA while the current president is in office.  This statement carries the moral integrity of the attention-seeking belch of an eight-year-old.  No one has a living memory of this degree of hatred against an American public figure as we are witnessing against the president.  The deranged left-wing media, Democrat impeachment grotesques, and pathetic Democrat candidates hate him more than they love America or her people, more than they love the Constitution, the rule of law, or even preserving their own rationality.
 
Let's use a parable to understand Trump Derangement Psychosis, which will also enlighten us about Markle.  Once upon a time, there was a man who had a good wife who was true to him in every way.  But he believed himself superior, smarter, and that he had stooped to marry her.  He controlled her by constantly reminding her of past sins, relentlessly, never letting her forget her past errors.  Then, along came another man who cared nothing about her past.  He beheld only her goodness and beauty.  The woman regained her spirit and went off with the man who loved her exactly as she was.  There was no end to the husband's fury.  He was full of narcissistic rage.  How dare this inferior and sinful woman run away from me?  How dare my superiority be rejected by such ignorant people?

The insane hatred of Trump is narcissistic rage because he loves America just as she is, and he inspires the American people to love their America again.  This love enrages the left.  They did not doubt that the Obama presidency, with its belittling and disloyalty to America, would be followed by Hillary, who would continue the narrative of racism, sexism, homophobia — vomitus unending.  They are furious that their narrative (America never was that great), which protects them from service to their nation, has been crushed by a president who loves America as she is.

Meghan Markle has never known a time when schoolchildren were taught to understand the greatness of their country and to love America.  She certainly wouldn't have the loyalty to fulfill her destiny regarding her husband's country.  She stood beside the queen of England to select a priceless tiara for her wedding, and she accepted tidal waves of adulation and wealth, without a sense of duty to the British people commensurate to the life she had chosen.  Her generation has been taught not love of country, but love of self.

Harry's and Meghan's progressive charitable interests have been identified as "gender equity" and climate change.  There are no human genders, only two sexes.  And to paraphrase the vegetarians, climate change activism means not having to help anyone who has a face.  Furthermore, these causes, combined with the couple's decision to have only one child to protect the environment, seem to follow the left wing's marginalization of children.  Above all, Harry and Meghan don't care to face that all their gifts of wealth, security, and freedom come to them not from globalism, nor from geographic balancing, but because generations of patriots preserved for them the laws, culture, and freedoms of Country Herself.
