Ret. 3-Star General Says He's Never Seen Anything Like Epic Fury — We're Now Playing 'Whac-A-Mullah'

 RedState

Three‑star U.S. Army Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Joseph “Keith” Kellogg Jr., who has served in several national security roles in both Trump administrations, appeared Friday on Fox News and said Operation Epic Fury was something he’d never seen in his lifetime — a relentless drive to take shackles off our armed forces and focus on what they do best: win.

Look, what this [Epic Fury] really tells me is something that I haven't seen in my generation, on the rules for engagement, is the president is going after everything. It's full speed ahead.

They're taking out targets most of us hadn't thought about. There's a huge target list out there, and there's no restrictions. And the president's right about winning.

There is no doubt in my mind that we're destroying every target we want to get to.

Watch:

Kellogg went on to say we’re outmaneuvering and outthinking the Iranians at almost every turn and taking full advantage of our technological superiority:

…[W]e're just using things that we hadn't used before and going after these targets. Like the LUCAS [Low‑Cost Unmanned Combat Attack System], which is a drone system that we reverse engineered from the [Iranian] Shahed‑136. That's got, basically, a huge warhead on it that we're sending back to the Iranians.

So we took their design, reverse-engineered it, and are sending them back.

RedState’s Pentagon correspondent RC Maxwell brought you the story of those reverse-engineered drones:

Kellogg continued:

And we're going after their deeply buried bunkers. We're going after every target we can find that's out there.

He had some advice for the mullahs:

…[Y]ou better to go back to your mosques, because, you know, there's a game in America called Whac-A-Mole. We're doing Whac-A-Mullah right now.

And it's sort of like everybody sticks their head up and says, I'm in charge.

[No,] you're gone. You're history. And the Revolutionary Guards is gone, too. Their military's gone. Their military, the economic peace is gone.

It's just a massive win for the United States.

Kellogg should know a thing or two about what he’s talking about, because in addition to being a three-star general, he's served as Acting U.S. National Security Advisor (Feb 2017), Executive Secretary & Chief of Staff, National Security Council (2017–2018), National Security Advisor to Vice President Mike Pence (2018–2021), U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia (2025), and U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine (2025).

If he’s right about his assessment, this is a very impressive performance by our military — one that hopefully ends with a free and prosperous Iran.
