Hilarious Moments in Spin Include Top Iranian Official Denying 'Talks' - While Confirming Negotiations
As we reported earlier on Wednesday, President Donald Trump said they were in discussions with Iran about the conflict. The U.S. made a 15-point offer to the Iranians, and Iran allegedly rejected the deal. They came back with a ridiculous set of their own "conditions" - requests of the U.S. that aren't going to happen.
According to Iranian media, those five conditions are:
- A full halt to “aggression and assassinations” by the enemy.
- Concrete guarantees that war will not be imposed on Iran again.
- Guaranteed and clearly defined war reparations.
- An end to the war across all fronts, including for all resistance groups in the region.
- International recognition and guarantees of Iran’s sovereign authority over the Strait of Hormuz.
Bottom line? If Iran doesn't make a deal, they know they have a lot of trouble incoming, and their options are fast running out.
One of the few things they seem to have left is posturing, and frankly, it has become so silly, it's funny.
Listen to this hilarious effort by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to deny there are talks, even as he confirms there are talks. "The exchange of messages...does not mean negotiations with the U.S."
There are no talks with the U.S., which is sending messages through different mediators. The exchange of messages via mediators does not mean negotiation with the U.S.
Top authorities are reviewing the offered proposals, but Tehran has no intention to hold talks with the U.S.
Yes, that's exactly what it means. How do you have that job, if you don't know what it means?
Then, too, he tries to threaten Iran's Gulf neighbors, calling on them to distance themselves from the U.S., and saying they will target them if they host the U.S.
Too late, Mr. Foreign Minister, you've already lost your neighbors. Attacking them and hitting civilian targets tends to make them unhappy with you. Not only aren't they with you; some, like Saudi Arabia, are also even contemplating joining the fight, and have already been offering more help to the U.S., like the use of the King Fahd Air Base to help in the effort against Iran.
But according to Iran, that's not what's happening. Here's what General Ebrahim Zolfaghari, the spokesperson for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters - Iran's unified military command - had to say about how the battle was going. Think "Baghdad Bob," except this is maybe "Tehran Tommy."
"Considering that all American bases in the region have been destroyed, the American commanders and soldiers have fled and taken refuge in hideouts outside the bases, and we are searching for them," he claimed.
Where is this happening, General? In your AI fantasy?
While some bases have been hit, there hasn't been one American base destroyed, much less "bases" destroyed. No commanders are fleeing and hiding out. This is some serious bull cookies.
Indeed, it's the Iranian regime thugs who are being smoked with the aid of tips from the Iranian people. It's the Iranian leaders who have to hide, in the hopes they don't get eliminated by the U.S. or Israel. I wrote about how one of them, the president of Iran, was hiding out in a bunker draped by blue blankets with what looked like a Labubu doll at his feet. He looks like death warmed over, not exactly projecting strength.
