Biden Posts Pic of 'Dream Team' Consisting of Himself, Jill, Kamala and Husband; The Roasting Commences
Do you remember the 1992 United States men's Olympic basketball squad, known as the Dream Team because it had some of the greatest names in hoops all playing together -- Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, and other stars -- and won the gold by thrashing their opponents by an average of 44 points?
They truly earned their moniker, which makes it all the more surprising that President Joe Biden would try to claim he is part of his own Dream Team, this one consisting of the First Lady, himself, the Vice President, and her husband, Doug Emhoff. Considering the country is floundering under his leadership and his poll numbers are trending downward into the Mariana Trench level territory, this is an unbelievably out-of-touch move.
"Three years with this dream team." It sure feels a lot longer than that to many of us.
Why are they all grinning giddily like they're hosting a cocktail party, not running a country? And what position exactly does the Second Gentleman play on this squad? No one voted for him, and he doesn't have any official duties in the administration (although he does for some reason have an office in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building).
I would also ask the president: can you name one accomplishment by Kamala Harris during her VP tenure? She doesn't appear to have done a single thing as Biden's "Border Czar."
First Lady Jill Biden, on the other hand, is actually an important team player -- she's often counted on to help Joe off the stage when he wanders off after speeches.
Naturally, the roasting commenced immediately. RedState contributor Buzz Patterson had thoughts:
As did RedState's Bonchie:
This post sums up why Biden's missive shows that he is living in an alternate universe:
I could list all of Biden's failures as commander-in-chief, including the border crisis, inflation, his failed energy policies, his disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal, and his weakness regarding the Houthis -- just to name a few -- but if you're a regular RedState reader, you know these things already.
The question is: does the president?
With Biden, it's always unclear whether he's just so out of it that he doesn't realize the American people have turned on him and that polls are consistently showing that Trump would beat him in the 2024 presidential election or if he's just so darn arrogant that he doesn't care. He often seems to be saying with messages like this, "Stay quiet, little people, I know what's good for you."
Hopefully, Americans will realize what's best for themselves in November and ensure he -- and his Nightmare Team -- depart the White House in January 2025
