The Hot Takes Flow as Ron DeSantis 'Breaks the Internet' With 2024 Campaign Announcement on Twitter

Sister Toldjah reporting for RedState

As expected, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis made his 2024 presidential candidacy official, filing the necessary paperwork earlier in the day and making his announcement on the Twitter machine just moments ago:

Prior to the Twitter Spaces going live, there were multiple technical glitches, presumably due to the fact that hundreds of thousands were tuning in to listen to DeSantis’ remarks:

This led to quips that DeSantis had “broken the Internet”:

Others joked that maybe a certain someone else was behind the technical issues:

Some of DeSantis’ critics on the right including allies of former President Donald Trump, also a 2024 GOP contender, got in on the action as well. Except in their case, they were there to explain What It All Means or something:

The handler running President Joe Biden’s Twitter account tried to get in a dunk, too:

Leftist media hacks like anti-Musk “reporter” Ben Collins from NBC News were clearly not pleased that at one point DeSantis had as many as 700,000 waiting for the live chat to start, so he proceeded to make up his own numbers:

The Very Online Left also tried to make the early tech glitches into a Very Big Deal because narratives and what not:

Stay tuned to RedState for more coverage of DeSantis’ announcement, including what he had to say on other hot topics during the “roundtable” of sorts he had with Musk, David Sacks, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), and others.
