Is the Classified Scavenger Hunt a Smokescreen?
It was reported yesterday that additional classified documents were discovered in Joe Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware home during the Biden family’s ongoing classified scavenger hunt.
When I saw the news about the latest find, I suddenly remembered a story I read a month ago in the Washington Post.
In mid-December, the Post reported that back in September, allies of the Biden family, led by attorney Kevin Morris, assembled in California for a strategy meeting to prepare for likely investigations into Hunter Biden and the Biden family if and when Republicans retake Congress.
The story gained quite a bit of attention at the time, mostly over the Post reporting that one of the strategies the Biden allies were considering was filing defamation suits against different entities and individuals, including Fox News, Rudy Giuliani, and Eric Trump.
And while the defamation lawsuit idea took up all the attention, my impression in reading the report was this meeting was designed to come up with a broader plan to ensure that POTUS didn’t get dragged into any investigations of his son.
Well, the latest news about the classified scavenger hunt made me wonder if one of the other strategies these guys discussed involved combing through Joe Biden’s files and records to sanitize them of anything that might connect Joe to Hunter’s dirty business deals.
In short, I don’t think the classified scavenger hunt was meant to be a classified scavenger hunt at all. Instead, it was an unexpected outcome of a clean-up operation by Joe Biden’s lawyers to erase anything that could implicate the president in his family’s foreign money-making schemes.
Were they expecting to stumble onto classified documents from the Obama administration during their clean-up operation?
I’m thinking no.
And when they did, it presented both a problem and a convenient smokescreen.
The Biden administration, primarily the National Archives and the Justice Department, have made a big deal about Donald Trump taking classified documents with him when he left office. Now we know that Joe Biden did the same thing. In fact, what Joe did was worse.
Joe, unlike Trump, didn’t have the power to declassify anything since he was only the vice president at the time he made off with these classified documents. And unlike Trump, Joe scattered these classified documents all over the place.
You can see why this is a problem for Biden’s lawyers.
I suggest that Biden’s lawyers found a way to use the media firestorm created by this problem as a smokescreen to hide what they’re really up to.
By notifying the DOJ and the National Archives about what they found, the Biden team creates the optics that, unlike Donald Trump, Joe Biden takes classified documents seriously and took action to ensure the documents were secured.
In a statement on Saturday, White House lawyer Richard Sauber said when they found the classified document in “a room adjacent to the garage,” “the President’s personal attorneys stopped searching the immediate area where the document was found.”
That begs the question: why in Lucifer’s reach were Biden’s lawyers conducting this search in the first place?
But with the public and the press buzzing over the Biden Classified Scavenger Hunt, nobody is asking that salient question. And I think that’s by design.
You have to admit, feigning transparency about the classified documents creates one hell of a smokescreen behind which can hide the true reason Biden’s lawyers are searching through the president’s records.
In short, while everyone’s attention is focused on the flashing red light over here, could it be that Biden’s lawyers are quietly slipping out of the Wilmington house with evidence incriminating Joe Biden in his son’s pay-for-play business deals with hostile governments like China?
That way, when the House accuses Joe Biden of being neck-deep in Hunter’s shady deals, his lawyers can confidently face reporters and say, “Where’s the evidence? They have not one scintilla of proof that Joe Biden was involved.”
Admittedly, this is entirely conjecture on my part.
And even if I am in the neighborhood of the truth, such a plan is still risky.
Joe’s lawyers are still stuck with the fact that their client scarpered out of the Obama White House with classified and top secret documents he has no legal right to possess.
It makes you wonder just how damaging Hunter’s dirty deals are for Joe Biden that his lawyers would rather acknowledge his criminal mishandling of classified documents than risk the House getting its hands on any possible evidence of Joe’s involvement in them.
This whole thing begs another question. The Attorney General has assigned a special counsel to investigate Biden’s mishandling of classified documents. So why are Joe’s lawyers still searching through Biden’s records?
Shouldn’t the Justice Department tell them to stop their search so federal investigators can take over?
The fact that Joe Biden’s lawyers are still rifling through documents lends credence to my theory that this isn’t a classified scavenger hunt, but an attempt to hoover up evidence that puts Joe in the frame for Hunter’s foreign deals.
Joe’s lawyers are going to use every available minute to make off with as much incriminating evidence as they can before the Justice Department tells them to hit the bricks.
