CNN+ just got subtracted

You hate to see it. Who am I kidding? This is hilarious!

Whelp. So much for that. CNN’s subscription service, CNN+ just got subtracted.

Yup. Not one month since its launch and CNN+ is calling it quits.

Is anybody else laughing? Because I’m howling over this!

I mean, honestly, guys, what the hell were you thinking?

You can’t find 800,000 people to tune in to watch CNN for free during prime time. Did you really think people would line up in droves to pay $5.99 a month for a subscription version?

Oh, man! I just thought of something!

Chris Wallace! I forgot about him. He must be seething!

Here he walks away from the number one cable news outlet in the country to take a spot on CNN+ and a month after it starts, he’s shit out of luck.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall over at CNN headquarters today. Wallace was throwing daily tantrums about the subscription service even before it launched. He must be peeing blood right about now.

I suppose there’s a chance Chris Wallace can convince the powers that be to give him a show on the cable network side of the biz. But still.

Imagine being that guy today.

They already sank $300 million dollars into CNN+ and it will be going dark 30 days after its launch. That breaks down to spending $10 million a day.

Man, oh, man. This just sucks for them. (She types as she grins from ear-to-ear).

In reporting on the failure of its subscription sister, CNN tweeted this a few minutes ago:

CNN+, the streaming service that was hyped as one of the most signifiant developments in the history of CNN, will shut down on April 30, just one month after it launched.

Ooof. First of all, they spelled significant wrong.

Second of all, who on God’s green and furtive earth was hyping CNN+ as one of the most significant developments in CNN history?

Didn’t pretty much everybody mock CNN+ from the moment it launched?

Please.

Though, in fairness, the disaster of having to roll up stakes thirty days after the launch is a significant development in CNN’s history. Just not the kind they were hoping for.

Any old how.

This is just delightful.
