U.S. planning to cut military presence in Iraq

The United States
is planning to decrease its military presence in Iraq. According to
military officials, the U.S. will reduce its number of troops from 5,200
to 3,500 in the region.On Friday, they announced Iraqi forces are now more capable of carrying out counterterrorism operations against ISIS.
This came after President Trump touted his progress towards ending the endless wars in the Middle East during his nomination acceptance speech.
“Unlike previous administrations, I have kept America out of new wars,” he said. “Our troops are coming home.”
The president went on to emphasize his desire to have a complete withdrawal of troops in the near future.
