The Media’s Veep-Stakes Death Match
After failing to get one of their preferred candidates nominated, the media is determined to choose the winner of the Biden Veep-Stakes.
Welcome to the Veep-Stakes Death Match.
Joe Biden, choose your fighter!
Think of it as Thunderdome for the under-qualified and overly hyped.
Though, in reality, it won’t be Joe Biden who will choose his fighter. The choice will be made for him. And the political media wants to be the one to do the choosing.
As I said in my post “The Polishing of Stacey Abrams,” I’m fairly certain the political media, still stinging from the DNC failing to nominate one of their preferred candidates, is going all out to determine the outcome of the Biden Veep-Stakes.
Trust me. They have never forgotten how central they were to the rise of Barack Obama.
And more than anything, they want that King-making power back.
But every 2020 candidate they tapped for the Obama magic failed to deliver.
In the beginning, the political media slobbered over Kamala – which only goes to show what a terrible candidate she was. Despite all that fawning coverage, Kamala cratered two months before Iowa.
Sensing Kamala’s lack of staying power, the media dropped her like a hot rock the instant Beto jumped into the race. The sweaty, arm-flailing doofus whose last foray into electoral politics was losing to Ted Cruz became their new darling. The media was fluffing so hard for Beto, their arms got tired. And it was all for naught. Three months before Iowa, the Beto Sizzle sputtered out like a wet fart.
Then, before the DNC shoved all others out of the way for the doddering old cooter Joe Biden, the media went all-in for Elizabeth Warren. So desperate were they to make Warren a thing, they bent over backwards to make excuses for her litany of lies. They colluded with her to take down Bernie for “sexism.” And they did everything humanly possible to make Liz look, well, human (like that cringeworthy soft-focus, slobbering profile in Rolling Stone).
The only person who bought into the media’s Warren Hype was Elizabeth Warren. So much so that despite losing big in the first four contests, Liz stayed in the race thinking the media-created hype around her was the real deal.
All their attempts to recreate the power they had in 2008 failed.
Stuck with Biden, the political media is determined to throw their weight around and push Biden into picking their choice in the Veep-Stakes.
And for reasons that are incomprehensible, they have settled on one of two women: Stacey “Rerun” Abrams and Governor “Karen” Whitmer.
Abrams is the female version of Beto O’Rourke (or the female who ate Beto O’Rourke as the case may be). Her claim to fame is losing an election and playing the Victim. And since there is no hope of seeing her skateboard across the stage, the media is left with gushing instead about her “supermodel” runway walk.
[Known in the real world as the Wide-Load Waddle.]
Governor Nurse Ratched Whitmer, meanwhile, is the Rust Belt Elizabeth Warren. Just as shrill and bossy, but with twice the unlikability. As an added bonus, she also shares Kamala Harris’ penchant for police state tactics.
The other women supposedly in the running are being largely ignored by the media. Clearly they aren’t excited about Klobuchar or Kamala (or whatever other Democrat meets the Biden Veep Standard of possessing a vagina).
Nope. They’ve settled on either Whitmer or Abrams.
While Whitner goes on late night TV to laugh it up with the sycophantic hosts, Abrams is treated to obsequious hagiographies that make Elizabeth Warren’s Rolling Stone profile look like hard news.
Going by the level of fawning, it appears that Abrams is winning the media’s Veep-Stakes. Even the woefully inept “conservative” Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin is slobbering all over the corpulent candidate.
The political media doesn’t just hope to be part of the Veep-Stakes decision process; they are demanding it. After all the hard work they’ve done to serve as the DNC’s public relations firm, they don’t just want a seat at the table, they want the table.
Joe Biden is irrelevant in all of this.
He is, as I’ve said before, but a vessel — the empty suit, empty head that all the former Obama people are using to stage their triumphal entry back into the White House.
The 2020 Veep-Stakes is all about finding the person who will actually be lead the Biden Administration.
And trust me, the political media knows that.
The Biden Veep-Stakes is the media’s second bite at the presidential apple.
On a related note. Last night Tucker Carlson did a segment on the Biden Veep-Stakes I thought you might enjoy seeing.
