Conspiracy Liz

I don’t know if you noticed it, but Elizabeth Warren is tanking in the polls.  And apparently, in an effort to boost her cred among the more unhinged segment of the Democrat base, Liz decided to go full-on Conspiracy Theorist.

Appearing on CNN yesterday, Conspiracy Liz actually claimed that President Trump only ordered the strike against the smoldering carcass formerly known as Qassem Soleimani in order to distract from his impending impeachment trial.

I guess backtracking on calling the terrorist murderer a murderer wasn’t enough for old Conspiracy Liz.

Now this “distraction” conspiracy theory has been floating around Twitter since moments after the strike was confirmed.  It was even advanced by renowned foreign policy analyst Alyssa Milano.

Good to know Conspiracy Liz takes her cues from such notable and knowledgeable people as Alyssa.

Why now, Conspiracy Liz asked.  Why not a month ago or a month from now.  Why now?!

Gee, Liz.  Maybe it has something to do with a rocket attack that killed an American followed by an attack on our Embassy in Baghdad.

But no!  Not according to Conspiracy Liz.  No.  The only possible explanation is President Trump wanted to orchestrate a plan to distract everyone from impeachment because he’s super scared the Senate will remove him from office.

“Next week, the President of the United States could be facing an impeachment trial in the Senate,” Conspiracy Liz explained. “We know he’s deeply upset about that, and I think people are reasonably asking why this moment.”

I wonder if Conspiracy Liz thinks Trump somehow maneuvered Soleimani into orchestrating these attacks just so he could whack him in order to distract from this ridiculous shampeachment.

The notion is absurd. Impeachment has been a massive fundraising boon to the Trump reelection campaign. His polling numbers have increased. And a deep loathing for the House Democrats is taking root.

Why would he try and distract from that?

Is Conspiracy Liz really this stupid?

Probably not.

But she is certain the ignoramuses of the Twitter Resistance😏 believe it.

She’s grasping at this nutty conspiracy theory in a desperate attempt to stop her cratering poll numbers.

But Twitter isn’t real life.  Something many of these 2020 candidates fail to comprehend.

In other words, Conspiracy Liz is falling into the same trap that ensnared Kamala Harris and Eric Swalwell.

Hoping to appeal to the Twitter Resistance😆 or to Rachel Maddow’s dwindling audience isn’t going to help Liz here in the real world.

And the real world isn’t keen on what she’s selling as it is.  Going full-on conspiracy theorist isn’t going to help at all.

This morning, Eddie Zipperer broke down the numbers from the latest Harvard/Harris poll.  And the news isn’t good for Liz – or Bernie for that matter.

Now, I don’t expect Elizabeth Warren to make good decisions.  With her flip-flops, her disastrous Medicare for All, her shrill, vindictive targeting of “the rich,” and her penchant for fictionalizing her own personal biography, Warren’s entire campaign has been, as Jesse Kelly predicted a year ago, a “Campaign of Cringe.”

Her wrong-headed decision to jump onto a Resistance😄 conspiracy theory over Soleimani is pretty much par for the course.

But it’s just one more reason fewer and fewer Democrat voters are taking this woman seriously.

Conspiracy Liz is flailing – grasping at straws in hopes of pulling herself out of this nosedive.

But this ain’t the way to do it.
