Nancy is up to her Obamacare tricks again

Did Nancy dangle USMCA as a way to get nervous Democrats to sign on to her impeachment suicide pact? If she did, it’s her Obamacare trickery all over again.

With yesterday’s dual Impeachment/USMCA announcement, I think it’s safe to say that Nancy Pelosi is up to her Obamacare tricks again.

Now I realize that with the way our news cycles barrel along, 2009 and 2010 seem like a century ago.  But I’m sure you remember all the tricks and schemes Nancy Pelosi deployed to force her skittish majority to follow her off the Obamacare cliff.

I mentioned this back in late November after Democrat Brenda Lawrence quickly retracted her statement that impeaching the President was a bad idea.

All of this reminds me of the wheeling and dealing that went on back in 2009 and 2010 to force Obamacare through.

Shaky Democrats, Blue Dog Democrats, pro-life Democrats – those guys were nervous as hell about voting for Obamacare. And the Democrats needed every vote possible to shove that garbage law through. So the quid pro quo kicked into hyperdrive to get it done.

And now I’m certain that is exactly what Nancy is doing.  Except now, maybe because she is getting sloppy in her advancing years, Nancy isn’t anywhere near as sly and covert as she was when she forced Obamacare on her recalcitrant caucus.

Now, I admit this is conjecture on my part.  But hear me out.

The Democrats who flipped seats within districts Trump carried are facing some serious blowback on impeachment.  Their constituents have been demanding that they keep their promises and actually work with President Trump to get things done for the country.  And one of the things they want is exactly what President Trump has been hammering Pelosi on: to bring the USMCA trade agreement to a vote.

But for almost a year, Nancy has refused to bring USMCA up for a vote.

It isn’t surprising Nancy didn’t want to pass it. Heaven forbid the Democrats help give President Trump a huge win — even if that huge win is an even bigger win for the country as a whole.

But suddenly she changed her mind?

Yeah. Something smells about this.

Here’s what I think happened.

This past weekend, Nancy tells these nervous, vulnerable Democrats, “We’re impeaching whether you like it or not. So here’s the deal.  You support our articles of impeachment, and I will bring USMCA to the floor for a vote.  That way you can go back to your constituents and hold that vote up as a shield to deflect from your impeachment vote.”

Okay, Nancy would never put it that articulately. She would’ve slurred and sputtered. But you get the idea.

I’m convinced USMCA is the trade-off to get these moderate Democrats to sign on for impeachment. Because that’s now Nancy rolls. She buys votes in exchange for something else.

But because Nancy’s getting sloppy in her old age, she doesn’t hide from us what she’s doing nearly as well as she did when she pulled the same tricks to get Obamacare passed.  Instead, at the very same press conference where they announce their stupid articles of impeachment, Nancy announces that USMCA will be brought up for a vote.

Way to tip your hand, Nance.

I guess subtlety is one of senility’s first victims.

The majority of the country did not want Obamacare.

And what happened to the House majority after Nancy pulled out all the stops and made all those backroom deals to shove that garbage bill through?

Well, less than a year later voters sent the Democrat majority packing.

And here we are again.

The majority of the country does not want President Trump impeached.

And once again Nancy is scheming and plotting and using all the same tricks to force nervous Democrats to sign on to this suicide pact.  Only this time she lacks to savvy and subtlety to hide from us what she’s doing.

Something tells me this kind of, dare I say it, quid pro quo is going to be just as disastrous for Nancy and the Democrat majority this time around as it was in 2010.

Even if a few Democrats vote against these two flimsy articles of impeachment, I doubt it will make much difference for them next November.  They’ve wasted the entire first year of their majority chasing garbage and wasting everyone’s time over what we now know, thanks to the IG Report, was a manifest lie.

The Democrats – every single one of them — deserve the blowback that’s coming their way.

In the end, Trump gets USMCA which is a huge win for the country.

All Nancy gets is to say goodbye to her gavel.
