AOC Whines That Asking Her to Do Basic Tasks Is ‘Absurd’

Article by Bonchie in "RedState":

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has often been accused of being one of the not-so-bright members of Congress, and she’s going to make sure she holds onto that designation. Apparently, the media darling and “squad” member doesn’t know how to choose a healthcare plan and finds it “absurd” that we have so many options.

Members of Congress also have to buy their plans off the exchange. They are Gold plans that are partially subsidized.
That means I get to “choose” btwn 66 complex financial products.
This is absurd. No person should go without healthcare, &no one should go through this, either.

I guess she doesn’t realize that competition breeds cost savings, nor that there are different plans for different types of people because, and stick with me here, people have different medical needs. A 60-year-old woman doesn’t need maternity coverage and a 20-year-old man doesn’t need coverage for a hysterectomy. Shocking, I know.

Perhaps the bigger issue here, though, is that an elected member of one of the most powerful bodies in the world doesn’t know how to use the sort function on a search.

Its wild that a United States Congresswoman is complaining because she’s expected to understand health insurance plans

These are the people who want to run your life from cradle to grave. AOC is incapable of shopping for health insurance, but she’s got a plan to revamp the entire economy that’ll only cost $93 trillion. Makes sense.

Also, wasn’t Obamacare supposed to fix all this? Maybe I slept through the apologies, but I distinctly remember Democrats insisting that the Affordable Care Act was going to solve all our ills and make it incredibly easy to get insurance. Not easy enough for some Congressional members I guess.

AOC continued by claiming she was only able to get health insurance after coming to Congress.

While I am VERY thankful to finally have health insurance, it is a moral outrage that it took me *getting elected to Congress* for that to happen.

The US needs to become an advanced society. That includes establishing healthcare as a right to all people.
And as someone who has now experienced many parts of the insurance spectrum (being uninsured, underinsured, and adequately insured) I don’t see how anyone can think our current healthcare system only needs a 10% improvement or a just few tweaks.

We need .

Given her previous income level coupled with New York State’s benefits and federal subsidies, the idea that she simply wasn’t able to get health insurance prior is laughable. She’s lying about that because she knows her base will eat it up.

But these are our intellectual betters. Those who want to run the entire healthcare system but are unable to pick a healthcare plan from a simple list of benefits, something your average high school dropout has no problem with. Behold their greatness.
