After Trump Calls Their Bluff On The Ukraine Transcript, The Left Hilariously Cry Foul And Rush To Move The Goalposts

This is almost too good. Predictable, but still satisfying.

For most of today, we’ve been inundated with impeachment fever among Democrats, the media, and some anti-Trump Republicans. This despite the fact that there was no evidence Trump did anything illegal or untoward in a phone call between he and the new Ukrainian president. We already know there was no threat or quid pro quo involving military aid or otherwise, but after this weekend’s hysteria, there was apparently no walking the story back.

Then something hilarious happened. As my colleague streiff reported earlier, Trump called their bluff.
The fact that the transcript will be unredacted leads one to anticipate that it is probably going to be innocuous and completely open to whatever interpretation you wish to make of it. If that is the case, this has been a epic troll of the Democrats.
Guess how Democrats and the media responded to getting what they had been demanding for days?
Excuse me while I go pass out from laughing so much….Ok, I’m back.

Now, all the sudden, they don’t want the call. The call that they’ve said forms the basis for impeachment, that proves Trump committed a criminal, corrupt act, is not longer relevant to them. You know what this means? There’s nothing worthwhile on the call.
So what’s next? Well, the goalposts must be moved of course.

I’m not going to lie. I’m actually enjoying this. Watching these people squirm after they got out over their skis again is incredibly entertaining. The media are rushing to save this story based on more supposition, but I don’t think it’s going to work.

Unless there’s a bombshell waiting on that transcript, this is going to backfire so spectacularly. And if there were a bombshell on the transcript, Trump wouldn’t be releasing it this soon. For all the talk of him being a political idiot, he may be on the verge of pulling off one of the greatest trolls in political history.
