Could this be the week the radical left has peaked?
It is starting to look like it, given the headlines and polls that are getting out this week.
It may be that, for the first time, it's possible to think that leftist prospects for retaking Congress are not as good as advertised.
Start with the implosion of James Talarico, Democrat Senate candidate for deep red Texas. He disappeared ... and we still don't have a clear answer as to whether he was clapped away in a mental institution or not. The campaign has denied he was, but hasn't explained what he was doing, other than accept that he had an Andropovian 'cold,' or in his case, the flu. If he can't handle the pressures of the campaign, it's hard to think he'd be able to handle the job of senator.
And now it's starting to eat into his polling lead, with his GOP rival, now ahead of him in a few polls.
Another one who's falling apart is Michigan Senate Democrat candidate Abdul El-Sayed. Like Talarico, he too suffers from an apparent lack of enthusiasm among the electorate, and in his case, it's a matter of the more the voters get a good look at him, the less they like him.
El-Sayed has had revelations come out about his affiliation with the Muslim Brotherhood, and a sister who called Oct. 7 the 'happiest day' of her life, as well as a bizarre paper on interracial "mating" as being dangerous for Arabs, something that is bound to tank his numbers even further than they already are, particularly with black voters who never liked the guy to begin with.
I don't see how he recovers from revelations like these and look forward to his tanking polling numbers, too, which I am counting on happening.
Then there's the decliine of Rep. Ilhan Omar, who made a career of pointing a bony finger at America as the bad guy.
We already know this happens among the woke set, but it turns out she is probably not even a wokester, but a foreign national with an abnormal hate for this country and a big appetite for power.
Sure, some Democrats are sticking up for her as one of their own in the wake of the raid on her immigration papers. The Nation is out scolding the others for not doing it.
But the likelihood that she will wriggle out of this and carry on as normal after questions were raised about her age at citizenship, whether she ever obtained citizenship, whether her father was ever a legitimate refugee after revelations of his war criminal reputation back in Somalia. and her financial irregularities create quite a stew of problems for her, and one can't help but sense that the gig is up, it's never going back to salad days for her.
Seems the fashionable anti-American act is not selling anymore as the lawmen move in.
I hope that makes it to its logical conclusion as a lesson to the rest of them about contempt for citizenship and the country itself while playing migrant for the cameras.
