14 Points of Western Values
“Freedom, God, capitalism, and country” is a good summary of American values. But Western values run far deeper. Leftism’s single operating principle is simpler: Deny that you are at war with the enemy society until you have the arms advantage, then install your elites with supreme rule to do anything to anyone, while they openly enrich themselves. This sociopathy draws sociopaths and spirals into atrocity that is denied. No free person ever benefits by handing that much power to leering strangers in the hopes of pity or mercy.
Nazis had some capitalism. Soviets and Chinese communists promised “liberation.” They professed to love their homelands and all the world. But freedom always ended at the first questioning of authority. Today the left says openly that hard work, punctuality, and meritocracy are Western values that must be crushed — except when people are working for them. Democrat congresswoman Elissa Slotkin has promised that all Trumpers, all political enemies, will be punished and made examples of. So I repeat: What are Western values?
The functional molecule at the heart of leftism is power, to enrich the elite, no matter what it costs the rest of humanity. The functional molecule at the heart of Western values is “First, do no harm to the Genius Machine (FDNH/GM)”: harm to none, thriving for all, to create the optimal platform for genius.
Creation creates creators. Our reflexes, instincts, and physiological and social sciences show this directionality. Deviation from this axis generates stress and resistance unless terror suppresses them. The Genius Machine orients to “holistic” thriving — meaning never to impede genius, nor anyone’s survival, thriving, or contribution and to reward raising the quality of life. History and instinct confirm it. The ascent of the West is the pursuit of this objective under many names.
This direction of human optimality is so consistent that we can give it a math formula. It translates to Stress + Benefit + Inherited Summary = Result. Inherited Summary means the running interaction of stress and benefit with individual or collective inherited strengths, weaknesses, and prior results. Stress and Benefit are determined by coherence with optimal genius in survival, thriving, products, services, solutions, entertainment, and understanding. Humans are a finite envelope; stress is what exceeds their ability or willingness to adapt. These roughly define any result, even if the variables cannot yet be exactly quantified.
The math formula and terms:
A room of conservatives will nod at this and study it carefully to see if it holds up. A room of leftists will do the same but must wait on approval from above. If told from above to attack it, they will go to war with it, blindly.
To the West, “holistic” means never interfering with genius or with the survival, thriving, and fair placement of anyone in the Genius Machine. The meritocracy is an open, populist society judging winners and losers by who raises holistic quality of life the most. The left wants its elite to control that process for its own enrichment, regardless of the cost to the rest of us.
The Genius Molecule produces this value and the fourteen others that follow. Conservatives and Western readers will see that the left agrees with none of them. The list is open to more suggestions.
1. Balance elitist and populist interests. All people matter because all have the potential to be geniuses or helpers of genius. Blocking anyone from the process blocks rising water from lifting all boats.
2. Holistic interests only. Leaders must serve FDNH/GM, especially in welfare and health care. Here, holistic health care could greatly reduce costs and raise effectiveness that the West would always appreciate. Leftists will do — or ignore — what they are told. People choose how hard to work; the populist dynamic sets the reward.
3. Question authority. The West began its journey with the Epiphany at Sinai and the Ten Commandments. It has been marching away from kings and elitism ever since. The left gladly questions our authority and elites, but never its own.
4. Capitalism — no other choice exists. At its root, capitalism is barter. We exchange what we value. Factories and complex products are elaborations of the same swap. The richest are those the populist dynamic judges to have raised quality of life the most. Attacking this irreducible exchange is irrational; humanity has no alternative.
5. Use power cautiously. Everyone has genius and helper potential. Don’t crush them and lose it. Lead with education and persuasion, not force. Always give the benefit of the doubt, because genius is so unpredictable, changing day by day. What is lost if we harm a potential genius or a helper? The left never questions its authority and worldview, and wipes out nations, regions, and populations to enrich and protect its elite.
6. Checks on power. Freedom and smaller government prevent elites from manipulating genius for their own profit and protection. The West keeps taxes, regulations, prices, and interest rates low and resists disinformation. The West has groped toward the realization that truth aligns with FDNH/GM. Data are recognized as good because they always show us, miraculously, how to live a better life.
7. Help the poor. Society must help those at the bottom. Meritocracy produces poor people, who are the least able or determined to raise quality of life. Under the left, the “poor” are the political enemies. The left forbids pity and help for them. Its rigid punishment structure — its body count, its “three generations punishment” in North Korea, its social credit scores, its weaponization of whole governments as Slotkin promises — is there any system more cruel and inhumane?
8. The open mind and logic. Take special care with our prejudices and tribalism that we are trying to evolve from, for the sake of civilization and greater FDNH/GM. Weigh evidence. Are we looking out for the largest, holistic interest at every step? Data and results appear to align with the humanist attractor. Use that alignment for guidance until it proves not to work. The humanism in it appears to be so complete that it invites scientific questions about God. As such, the West believes that we probably do not have to harm, steal from, or disinform anyone in order to advance toward a better world.
9. God and optimism. The West chooses to marvel at the wonder of God’s world and chooses optimism, nonstop learning, in homage to the wonder of Creation. Individuals may opt out of this optimism and wonder, but they may not injure others, their property, or their information. The left sees no such wonder. The barter of capitalism must be destroyed along with the rewards for raising holistic QOL. The left teaches that learning anything about the enemy is immoral. To the West, this is unconscionable. What if the enemy is right? Thus, the left blots out all mention of its enemy and allows only its own narrative. The left has no optimism or trust for anyone outside itself. Mao said 70 percent of the world must die to enforce communism.
10. Balance materialist and holistic interests. Materialism is fun. We stimulate genius far more with this drive than without it. Holistic interests see the whole, including the spiritual component of an intrinsic moral order that looks as if it cannot be improved. Balancing our material desires with the holistic benefit of us all is the measure of civilization. The left obsesses over the material in power, governance, and ideology. Materialism risks obsession, addiction. Under the left, the poor need not work until the elite take power and turns their enemies into the new poor — then they are slaves, and the left is happy about it.
11. No addictions. Addictions destroy logic and caring. The addict cares only about feeding the addiction — drugs, sex, food, rock ’n’ roll, power, money, entertainment, welfare, or ideology — and will ruin self and all else. The West has learned that all addictions must be educated against, fought, exposed, and discouraged. More addiction, more social unraveling. Leftists are addicts to their ideology. They cannot be made to believe they are wrong. The left encourages every addiction by any means necessary — then politicizes it. “Do you like your addiction? Better vote for us — Republicans will take it away!”
12. The power of education and results versus propaganda and lies. “First, do no harm” leads through education in FDNH/GM and through examination of evidence and results because reality and consequences align with this intrinsic humanism. Humanity has unique persuasive power. The more people are educated in this basis of Western civilization, the more they see that the balance necessary for the most productive life is unavoidable, so we might as well get used to it. The FDNH/GM meritocracy is awe-inspiring. It sets us up for a spectacular journey. The left sees none of this intrinsic wonder. It declares that the world is awful. That FDNH/GM is ridiculous. That Capitalism is savage. That we abandon our poor. This is a position against reality. It is weak, because we are always better as one than apart. Its results will never be more productive than what humane holistic unity will deliver. Our potential unity is always so powerful — and always available to us merely by the power of choice — that its enemy must always rely on blindness, crime, violence, propaganda, hiding data, and constant lies about everything.
13. Objective truth and the test of non-harm. Realization and enlightenment are tied to an objective truth anchored in human physiology, psychology, survival reflexes, instincts, innate social expectations, and a self-justifying reward cascade: FDNH/GM humanism appears to be an unimprovable molecule. The West will accept the benefit of the doubt of non-harm until it is proven false, or a better system appears. The hardcore left cannot accept this truce; it would lose power over its minions, because the illusion of an “enemy” would melt away. Test the left: If FDNH/GM is also leftists’ goal, can they stop wanting to destroy Trump and key Republicans? Trump, Vance, Rubio, Cruz, DeSantis, Charlie Kirk, Elon Musk, Brandon Gill, Ron Johnson, RFK Jr., Pence, Marine Le Pen, Javier Milei, Bush Jr., Romney, McCain, Dick Cheney, Bush Sr., Reagan, Dan Quayle, Margaret Thatcher, Gerald Ford, Nixon, Spiro Agnew, Barry Goldwater, Nixon again — each systematically dehumanized. Can the left stop insisting that an entire rank of “enemies” be eliminated before we then get to FDNH/GM? Ask. We will agree; leftists will not.
14. Never pick on people smaller than you. The West shuns domination. The clearest case is sex with children. We do not do it because of the harm, and because children are not mature enough to recognize grooming. Children look to adults for protection; their potential is injured by such abuse. To the West, this is an abomination. The leftist rank and file apparently do not care. If their elites want it, the movement will look the other way — and blame the other side.
This list is not exhaustive. Additions only clarify the West and expose the left more. Maybe this list will help voters better understand what both sides offer and how they think. Enough human instinct recognizes FDNH/GM that the left’s power depends on emotionalism, tribalism, division, and disinformation. One side builds; the other says we must first murder and destroy, then build.
Karl Marx tried three times to outline a human operating system better than the one we have. He failed. Our innate ethics cohere to FDNH/GM. It appears to be unalterable. If the left ever drops its propaganda and admits what it has done, we will know that peace is possible.
