Trump on Iran: We're Going to Be 'Attacking Them Very Hard,' Reveals US Snuck 22 Tankers Through Strait
President Trump told reporters in the Oval Office Wednesday that more consequences were coming for Iran after he accused them of shooting down an American Apache helicopter off the coast of Oman on Monday. Both pilots were rescued by an autonomous sea drone, the first successful rescue of its kind, but the aggression has caused hostilities to heat up again between the U.S. and the Islamic Republic.
We’re not done retaliating, the president vowed:
TRUMP ON IRAN 👀
Reporter: "You said [Iran] will now 'have to pay the price.' What did you mean by that, specifically?"
Trump: "We're gonna be attacking them, and attacking them very hard."
Reporter: "You're resuming bombing?"
Trump: "Yeah. Well, we are. Based on the helicopter, I guess we have the right to do that."
"I've been working with Iran for a number of months and they should sign that deal," he continued. "We want a deal that's meaningful. We want a deal that works. We don't want to just have a Barack Hussein Obama deal, a JCPOA, the worst deal."
Trump said Iran was purposefully slow-walking negotiations for a peace deal because they got used to playing us for suckers over the decades:
.@POTUS on Iran: "We hit them hard yesterday and we're going to hit them again hard today... And we'll see what happens with the deal. We were really close to a deal — but they keep tapping us along. They keep playing us for suckers because you know what? They dealt with some very stupid Presidents."
Trump also revealed that the United States has sneaked 22 tankers full of millions of barrels of oil through the Strait of Hormuz in the darkness of night — right under the Iranians’ noses.
“They don’t have any radar,” the president said, “because we blasted the crap out of it.”
If we hadn't gotten all that oil, prices at the pump would surely be higher, he said: "Millions of dollars of barrels have come out, and that's why it's at $85-$90 a barrel instead of $250.”
