Rubio Throws Jabs at Hearing As He Leaves Dems Fuming, but the Rest of Us in Stitches

RedState

Secretary of State Marco Rubio was testifying before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday. You know that was likely to spark a storm of "performance theater" by the Democrats, peppering Rubio with questions that were outside the subject of the hearing.

But Rubio has shown that he's truly adept at dealing with these characters.

My colleague Bob Hoge reported earlier on Wednesday on how he sliced and diced Rep. Ted Lieu (CA-36), who was trying to push a bizarre conspiracy about President Donald Trump, claiming that Trump "keeps going to hospitals" (he doesn't) and that no one has seen him in eight days (we see him all the time). They're such ridiculous hypocrites when they covered up Joe Biden's cognitive deficiencies.

But Rubio wasn't done yet, dispensing with the Democrats. This exchange with Rep. Sarah McBride (DE-at large) is just hilarious.

"I assume you're aware Greenland is indeed part of Denmark," McBride inquired of Rubio.

"For now," Rubio quipped, with a smile. Okay, I am officially dead with that one.

Then there was Rep. Sara Jacobs. (CA-51). Watch her completely lose her mind asking about the 2020 election and Rubio's...shoes? This is bats. And she thinks she looks good. Rubio takes her apart.

"You can't admit the shoes the president bought you are too big," she ranted. "You clearly don't know what winning means." What the heck? Is there a sane point in there?

Rubio laughed at her, and said the Florsheims the president gave him "fit fine."

She then claimed, "Your shoes look very nice today, Mr. Secretary."

"How can you see them? They're way down here," he shot back, indicating they were under the table. "

We're talking about shoes, are you kidding me? I mean, is this the Foreign Affairs Committee or a circus? What is this?

Republican Rep. Tim Burchett (TN-02) then concurred that, yes, it was a circus.

Then there was Democrat Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-30), who started screaming at him about aid money. Start at 17 seconds into the clip.

She then leaves her seat as Rubio questions her behavior

"Can I answer? Oh, she gets to scream now, too? What is this? You ask questions for 5 minutes, and I don't get to answer. What is this, a dunk tank?

Republican Rep. Maria Salazar (FL-27) then praised him, as Kamlager-Dove stormed out of the room.

Rubio asked, "Why is she leaving? I'm going to answer her questions!"

You can hear her yelling back from the hallway, and he finished her, "Oh, okay, thank you for coming!"

Salazar burst out laughing, and so did people behind Rubio.

Absolute killer, well done, Mr. Secretary.
