‘We Need Heads To Roll’: Chip Roy Urges Trump To Replace Bondi With ‘Aggressive’ AG
Congressman Chip Roy, R-Texas, said the next attorney general needs to be “aggressive” and deliver real results, not just “show” and “statements.”
President Donald Trump fired Pam Bondi on Thursday, confirming in a Truth Social post that Bondi would move to an undisclosed role in the private sector.
“Pam did a tremendous job overseeing a massive crackdown in Crime across our Country, with Murders plummeting to their lowest level since 1900,” Trump said on Truth Social. “We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future.”
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will serve as interim attorney general.
Responding to the announcement, Roy said on Fox News that “it’s critical that we have a great leader at the top of the Department of Justice. … The next person who’s heading the Department of Justice has got to be aggressive.”
Roy pointed out that Republicans have a guaranteed trifecta for only a short while longer, and yet there are a lot of dissatisfied Republican voters who feel like they have not seen “justice and accountability” for victims of political persecution, Antifa, the Epstein files, and the pandemic, among other hot topic issues.
“We have got to be on offense for justice and accountability,” Roy said. “What are we doing about Antifa and what they’re doing radically across this country to endanger us? Open borders — the radical Marxist networks? … We have got so many things we need to be doing and pursuing. You know, Artist Frost — I mean, how many things do we have to see before we see some heads roll and we see some accountability?”
“We’ve never really gotten to the bottom of stuff involving Fauci and the horrors that they perpetrated on the American people. You know, human smuggling and traffickers, fentanyl pouring into our communities. We need heads to roll,” Roy said.
When it comes to who will replace Bondi, Roy made clear that any replacement must deliver “action” and not just “statements” and “show.”
“[If] we do not break the backs of the Marxist networks, of the Islamist network, of the networks that have been funneling people illegally into our country, then we will no longer have a country,” Roy added. “They are organized. They are well-funded. We need to stop them. We need to stop the Antifa and radical organizations the president has rightfully declared as terrorist organizations. We need to root them out, follow the money, and I can promise you, that’s not being done to the level it needs to be done. That needs to be changed.”
