Trump's Not Playing with Democrat-Run Cities: Operation Midway Blitz Is On
Get ready, Chicago, you are the next blue city to get an immigration and law enforcement surge following President Donald Trump's repeated statements that violent crime in the Windy City is out of control and he's planning to do something about it.
In a post on Monday on X, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced, "Trump admin launches 'Operation Midway Blitz' in push to target illegal immigrants, fight violent crime in Chicago."
The Department of Homeland Security also shared the news that the Trump administration is done with making threats that they are going to crack down on violent crime in Chicago and is taking action now.
"DHS is launching Operation Midway Blitz in honor of Katie Abraham, who was killed in a drunk driving hit-and-run car wreck caused by criminal illegal alien Julio Cucul-Bol in Illinois," the DHS post read.
"This ICE operation will target the criminal illegal aliens who flocked to Chicago and Illinois because they knew [Democratic] Governor [JB] Pritzker and his sanctuary policies would protect them and allow them to roam free on American streets," the post added.
"Trump and [DHS] Secretary [Kristi] Noem stand with the victims of illegal alien crime while Governor Pritzker stands with criminal illegal aliens," the post continued.
The DHS post included a heartbreaking video of the grieving parents of Abraham talking about what happened to their daughter and how the illegal criminal alien should never have been in this country.
"It is our understanding that he was deported in 2016," the mother shared. "And as Joe stated, he came back using a fake alias. Why do these people who break laws, who are not U.S. citizens, deserve due process? Again, Katie got nothing. She got death."
As my RedState colleague Bob Hoge reported, Trump really upset the liberals over the weekend when he posted a meme referencing the 1979 Francis Ford Coppola-directed classic, "Apocalypse Now":
The report pointed out the fact that the administration was preparing to take major action in Chicago in the coming week:
The Trump administration is preparing to send at least 300 federal agents from the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and other agencies to the Great Lakes Naval Base in North Chicago, Illinois. The mobilization is part of what officials describe as enhanced immigration enforcement operations slated to begin this weekend.
While National Guard units will not be deployed inside Chicago, other states are moving to reinforce federal operations.
Reportedly, dozens of Indiana National Guard members will soon be called up to assist immigration enforcement efforts across the state. About 50 members are expected to deploy by mid-September.
A state spokesperson said the troops will not conduct arrests or participate directly in enforcement. Instead, they will handle "administrative logistics and support tasks."
President Trump has made it clear he's done waiting for Democrat-run cities to crack down on their out-of-control crime and admitted it's not just Chicago that could see this federal law enforcement surge, but also New Orleans or possibly New York, RedState reported. Meanwhile, enhanced ICE activity was reported in Boston over the weekend and is continuing Monday.
