Did Trump Do It Again? Cracker Barrel Makes Huge Announcement After Epic Backlash (Updated)

RedState

Did President Donald Trump just do it again? Cracker Barrel announced — after an epic backlash from the White House and customers — that it was bringing back the "Old Timer" logo and ditching the newly rebranded one.

In a statement to Fox News, the restaurant chain admitted it got the message loud and clear from critics, and it is bringing back the tried and true logo that has been part of the food chain since 1977.

"We thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel," the restaurant chain said in a statement to FOX Business.

"We said we would listen, and we have," it added. "Our new logo is going away and our 'Old Timer' will remain. At Cracker Barrel, it's always been – and always will be – about serving up delicious food, warm welcomes, and the kind of country hospitality that feels like family."

"As a proud American institution, our 70,000 hardworking employees look forward to welcoming you to our table soon," the statement continued.

The company's dramatic reversal followed numerous days of facing backlash from critics over its woke rebrand, which drew criticism from conservatives and social media users.

Even President Trump entered the fray, as my RedState colleague Rusty Weiss reported.

Trump wrote:

"Cracker Barrel should go back to the old logo, admit a mistake based on customer response (the ultimate Poll), and manage the company better than ever before," he wrote. "They got a Billion Dollars' worth of free publicity if they play their cards right. Very tricky to do, but a great opportunity. Have a major News Conference today," added Trump. "Make Cracker Barrel a WINNER again."

So, Trump posted on Tuesday morning, and by the end of the day, Cracker Barrel reversed course. Coincidence? I don't think so!

Update - President Trump has now weighed in on the company's about-face:

Congratulations “Cracker Barrel” on changing your logo back to what it was. All of your fans very much appreciate it. Good luck into the future. Make lots of money and, most importantly, make your customers happy again!

That seems like sound advice.
