Drop the Hammer: Charge and Expel Deranged, Violent Democrat Rep. LaMonica McIvers

Bonchie reporting for RedState

One of the craziest stories of the year broke on Friday after a contingent of Democrat politicians stormed an ICE facility in New Jersey, supposedly in protest of President Donald Trump's immigration policies. But while they claimed to have done nothing wrong, the more evidence emerged, the more obvious it became that they were lying through their teeth.

As RedState reported, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, who was arrested on site, tried to play the victim on CNN. Video then emerged showing that he breached a checkpoint and refused to leave after multiple requests.

The behavior of three Democrat congressional members was arguably even worse. Representatives Bonnie Watson Coleman, LaMonica McIver, and Rob Menendez Jr. could be seen on camera shoving ICE agents as they fought through the first checkpoint, with McIver appearing to even throw punches.

Naturally, she too played the victim, claiming that ICE agents "shoved her." She went on to paint herself as a fighter, just trying to conduct "oversight."

The Trump administration sawed off the limb McIver went out on, though, with the release of body-cam footage directly contradicting her description of the events. Not only was she incredibly vulgar and belligerent, but she also appears to have committed assault.

Warning: coarse language in video

So not only did McIvers, a House member, allegedly commit assault against federal law enforcement officials just trying to do their job, but she then blatantly lied about it in an attempt to stir up hate and division. To say her behavior is unbecoming of a congressional member would be the understatement of the century.

There's only one solution here: Charge her criminally and expel her from Congress.

Ship's post continued:

A client of mine lost his commercial pilot's license and job with an airline when charged with only 4 misdemeanors.

McIver cannot receive better treatment from the House members.

Either the law applies to everyone or it doesn't. Democrats have made the phrase "no one is above the law" a central part of their political messaging. They tried to throw the then-Republican candidate for president in jail for the rest of his life. They set a standard, and now it's time they be made to live by it.

If a normal American did what McIvers did, they'd have been slammed to the ground and handcuffed. It wouldn't even be a question that they'd be charged with a crime, and they'd almost certainly lose their employment as well. Congressional members are supposed to have some sense of decorum and respect. Cussing out rank-and-file ICE agents and throwing punches at them is not those things, to say the least.

House Majority Leader Mike Johnson should quickly bring a resolution to expel McIvers from Congress to the floor. Even if it doesn't pass, and it just might, it will at least make the entire Democrat caucus own her ridiculous behavior. Further, the DOJ should file charges. McIvers cannot be allowed to get away with what she did simply because of her status. If that happens, it'll be open sense for this kind of dangerous, grandstanding garbage. The time to nip this in the bud is now. Make an example of her, and do it harshly.
