Afuera! First Hamas-Supporting Foreign Student Visa Revoked, Repatriation Underway!
Is it necessary to point out that it's not in the best interests of the United States to have foreign students who hate America and support vicious terrorist murderers attending our universities on our soil? Is it necessary to point out that these people are stirring up trouble while contributing nothing to the United States?
Until now, these people were allowed to remain in the United States to continue their anti-American agitation. No longer. It's happening — the first foreign student to have engaged in anti-America, pro-Hamas protests has had their student visa yanked, and they will be sent back home.
The State Department has yanked the first visa of a foreign student linked to “Hamas-supporting disruptions” after President Trump vowed to crack down on those involved in anti-Israel protests on college campuses.
“We revoked the first visa of an alien who was previously cited for criminal behavior in connection with Hamas-supporting disruptions,” a State Department spokesperson said in a Thursday statement first obtained by Fox News.
“This individual was a university student. [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] will proceed with removing this person from the country.”
As reported Friday in a piece at Axios, Secretary of State Marco Rubio's State Department is said to be developing an AI tool to identify foreign student protestors for similar action.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio is launching an AI-fueled "Catch and Revoke" effort to cancel the visas of foreign nationals who appear to support Hamas or other designated terror groups, senior State Department officials tell Axios.
Why it matters: The effort — which includes AI-assisted reviews of tens of thousands of student visa holders' social media accounts — marks a dramatic escalation in the U.S. government's policing of foreign nationals' conduct and speech.
- The reviews of social media accounts are particularly looking for evidence of alleged terrorist sympathies expressed after Hamas' Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel, officials say.
Foreign students on educational visas are here on tolerance. They are not citizens, and if they are working counter to the interests of the United States, identifying and repatriating them is precisely the right thing to do. We might note as well that any such students who support Hamas are not just working counter to the interests of the United States but to the interests of civilization itself.
We cannot and should not tolerate the presence of these people in the United States.
Finally, Fox News's Bill Melugin took to his X account with more details:
Melugin's post continues:
I’m told this person was a university student, and “ICE will proceed with removing this person from the country.”
The official says the State Dept. reviewed over 100,000 visas, and records showed the Biden administration canceled zero visas for pro Hamas activities or associated criminal behavior, despite the wave of protests on college campuses that broke out after the 10/7/2023 terror attacks on Israel.
Of course, that last sentence is true; if the Biden administration can be marked by anything, it can certainly be marked by inaction, even in issues such as this, where action is clearly warranted. Removing people who support vicious Hamas murderers is clearly warranted. Identify them, detain them, and send them back. There can be no place for such people on our university campuses — or in our country.
