TRUDEAU FACES GROWING INTERNAL REVOLT

Is this the beginning of the end, or will Trudeau’s cult-like hold over the Liberal Party prevail?

Justin Trudeau is facing a growing internal revolt.

And reports indicate it is the most serious threat to his leadership of the Liberal Party since he won the leadership of the Liberal Party in 2013:

And now, even CBC – often the first place leakers within the government go to get their message out – is reporting on it:

“Pressure is building on the prime minister and his office as a growing number of anxious Liberal MPs are coordinating efforts to force Justin Trudeau to step down as Liberal Party leader, multiple sources have told CBC News.

Disgruntled Liberal MPs have held a series of meetings to discuss a path forward for the party since the surprising Toronto-St. Paul’s byelection loss in June.”

A document is circling:

“Some MPs are being asked to sign their names to what amounts to a pledge to stand together in calling for Trudeau to resign, multiple sources said.

The document isn’t a letter to be circulated; sources describe it as a vehicle to secure a commitment from MPs to seek a leadership change, and to bind the MPs to that goal if the prime minister and his supporters push back.

MPs were pulled into meetings across Parliament Hill this week to sign on to the demand for change at the top.”

Up to 30 MPs have apparently already signed on the effort to oust Trudeau, and others are indicating their support.

Trudeau has since arrived back in Canada, and refused comment:

Trade Minister Mary Ng – seen as a Trudeau loyalist – said “I’m disappointed,” when informed by the press of the internal move against the PM.

This growing revolt is quite notable, as it indicates that horrendous Liberal performances in recent by-elections are eroding Trudeau’s authority within the Liberal Party.

As much has Trudeau tries to hype his party’s chances, the voters continue to say otherwise.

With that said, much of the Liberal Party has been turned into a Trudeau cult, with the party sticking with the Prime Minister amid brutal polling numbers, policy failures, and by-election losses that would have sunk most other leaders.

Now, we are about to see a test of whether Liberal MPs’ desire to be reelected can overpower the Trudeau cult.
