Biden Coming After the Supreme Court—Wants Term Limits, Enforceable Ethics Code, Immunity Amendment

They keep telling you that GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump is a "threat to democracy" and a wannabe autocrat—yet it's Joe Biden who rules by decree and is trying to undermine centuries of tradition and precedent. Although the Supreme Court was imagined by the Founders as a third, co-equal branch of government, Biden has consistently undermined its legitimacy.

Now he wants changes. Big changes:

President Biden is finalizing plans to endorse major changes to the Supreme Court in the coming weeks, including proposals for legislation to establish term limits for the justices and an enforceable ethics code, according to two people briefed on the plans.

He is also weighing whether to call for a constitutional amendment to eliminate broad immunity for presidents and other constitutional officeholders, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss private deliberations.

Biden previewed his planned power grab in a Saturday Zoom call with the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

“I’m going to need your help on the Supreme Court, because I’m about to come out — I don’t want to prematurely announce it — but I’m about to come out with a major initiative on limiting the court … I’ve been working with constitutional scholars for the last three months, and I need some help,” Biden said, according to a transcript of the call obtained by The Washington Post.

Biden has a disturbing history of attacking SCOTUS and outright ignoring its rulings.

Whenever the left warns about autocracy and looming dictatorships, they are always projecting.

Biden is peeved because he hasn't gotten his way on several major rulings, chief among them Roe v. Wade. Since they consider abortion their strongest issue at this point—having miserably failed at everything else—it's not surprising that Democrats have been vilifying SCOTUS from the moment the ruling tossing Roe aside was leaked (Dobbs v. Jackson) in 2022. But other decisions aren't to his liking either, especially the recent "immunity" ruling, which, as RedState's Susie Moore reported, said presidents are "entitled to at least a presumption of immunity for their official acts. However, there is no immunity for unofficial acts."

Other rulings have ruffled the feathers of the left as well, and they're also aghast at these dubious ethics scandals they keep desperately trying to publicize. (They pale in comparison to the antics of Biden Inc.)

Their solution? Tear it all down. Try to take power from a branch that the Constitution specifically said was equal

The good news is that the incredibly shrinking president might not be able to get much movement on these proposals, as his campaign and his presidency have imploded following his Disaster Debate performance. Nevertheless, it shows how craven he's become in his desperation to hold on to power.
