Biden's Pic With Kids Sets People Talking, As He Tells Another Bizarre Story and Lie About the Race
I wrote earlier about Joe Biden doing a campaign event in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to push for higher taxes on the "rich." He's already shown that he will charge us all more for everything, with Bidenflation.
Biden had multiple moments of confusion while in Scranton. He screamed about former President Donald Trump repeating the debunked story about "suckers and losers" when it was he himself who called members of the military "stupid bastards" on camera a few years ago. Biden even blanked out briefly on the name of the town, his own hometown.
He also visited a campaign facility where he told a bizarre story about answering the door to his hotel room in a towel and shaving cream. Whatever he's trying to say, it's so rambling that it borders on the incoherent.
I'm not sure I even want to know the rest of that story — I think I'm afraid to find out. What even is the point of this story?
If he's talking to organizers/activists going out to campaign for him, that's not exactly encouraging them.
He also told these people a big lie about being ahead of Trump. He said he had been to "every single, every single" of the toss-up states. Then he pooh-poohed polls, and he claimed, "Guess what? Even in the polls that are being used now, we're ahead in 35 polls!"
That's not even close to reality, as you can see from this Real Clear Politics Average as of April 16, 2024.
Indeed, of the last 42 general polls, he is ahead in only four of them.
Does he get that people can check what he says when he departs from the truth like this? That's also not exactly reassuring to your supporters when you have to lie to them like this. The people behind him didn't exactly look enthused; the teenage boy looked like he wanted to be elsewhere.
But perhaps the video that had most people talking was when Biden visited his childhood home. He was shown with a group of children, all walking in a line for the staged photo-op. It was creepy.
He looked ancient and out of place, and the kids didn't seem into it either. Even his jacket was sitting weirdly. What was going on there? One of the kids seemed to be almost leading Biden around. Who thought it was a good idea to surround Biden with kids? How scripted this looks, even down to the "spontaneous" chant.
Compare that to the general spontaneity of the Trump chants in New York as he visited a bodega, and people chanted for him.
