'Iran-Loving, Hamas-Appeasing Buffoon' Blinken Blasted for Trying to Limit Israel's War Against Hamas
Given we already know that Joe Biden's Secretary of State Antony Blinken is woefully inept, we can forgo making the point — and instead start with explaining why one critic of the secretary just added "Iran-loving, Hamas-appeasing" adjectives to describe Blinken's buffoonery, in this particular case.
As we reported on Thursday, leaked remarks from a private meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his war cabinet, and Blinken revealed that the Biden Administration — with Blinken as the mouthpiece — told Israel it could not operate militarily in southern Gaza the way the Israeli Defense Forces have operated in the north in the aftermath of the horrific Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attack.
Bizarrely, Blinken reportedly told Netanyahu and company that Israel doesn't have "the credit" to continue destroying Hamas, but rather, it only has weeks. Via the Times of Israel:
You can’t operate in southern Gaza in the way you did in the north. There are two million Palestinians there. You need to evacuate fewer people from their homes, be more accurate in the attacks, not hit UN facilities, and ensure that there are enough protected areas [for civilians]. And if not? Then not to attack where there is a civilian population.
"What is your system of operation?" Blinken arrogantly asked IDF Chief Herzi Halevi.
Halevi replied:
We follow a number of principles — proportionality, distinction, and the laws of war. There were instances where we attacked on the basis of those principles, and instances where we decided not to attack, because we waited for a better opportunity.
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant added:
The entire Israeli society is united behind the goal of dismantling Hamas, even if it takes months.
Blinken brazenly shot back: "I don’t think you have the credit for that."
What? From widely discredited Antony Blinken, no less? And after the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust? The hubris is beyond appalling; it's unconscionable.
Veteran conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt nailed it:
Secretary Blinken’s meeting in Israel yesterday where he told Israel that they didn’t have the credit ... needed to destroy Hamas followed by that rather disastrous press conference … will go down as one of the worst diplomatic faceplants in history.
Correct. And Hewitt added:
I don't think Hamas understood correctly the resolve of Israel to destroy them. And I think Hamas got the wrong message from Secretary Blinken, yesterday ... that the United States is trying to hold Israel back.
Again, correct — and potentially ominous.
Here's a thought:
Suppose Israel leaked the details of the meeting with the belief that Hamas might then miscalculate based on Blinken's pressure on Netanyahu and his government, with the Israelis calculating that the terrorist group would then do something stupid. As a result, the IDF would recommence pounding the crap out of them.
Doesn't seem all that farfetched, does it? Of course not — that's exactly what happened. The Hamas "doing something stupid" part, that is, and the IDF responding. Israel announced on Friday that it had restarted air strikes in southern Gaza after Hamas fired into the Jewish State.
Incidentally, the best response to Blinken came from Fox News host Mark Levin, who went full-metal jacket in his beatdown of the beleaguered secretary.
Who the hell does this Iran-loving, Hamas-appeasing buffoon of a secretary of state think he is?
Beautiful.
Antony Blinken thinks he's Antony Blinken, Mark. Just like Alejandro Mayorkas thinks he Alejandro Mayorkas, and Joe Biden thinks he's Joe Biden; three of the most cluelessly inept individuals ever to serve in the U.S. government. And, damn, do we continue to pay for it.
