Chris Wallace Completes His Transition Into a Full-Blown Left-Wing Hack

Bonchie reporting for RedState

Chris Wallace was always a bit of a fish out of water at Fox News. As a registered Democrat, he often tried to play himself as a down-the-middle journalist who told it like it was. For the most part, he managed to stay in that lane, though his biases would sometimes become obvious.

After moving to CNN, though, Wallace began a transition. Unshackled by the expectations of his former audience, he slowly transitioned into just another left-wing talking head. That transition is now complete.

The following segment on Hunter Biden provides the proof.

WALLACE: Sometimes the best defense is a good offense. The president's embattled son, Hunter Biden, taking on House Republicans this week, agreeing to testify in their impeachment inquiry, but only if it's in public. House Republicans were quick to reject the offer, calling for Hunter to testify first in private.

WALLACE: Did Hunter Biden outsmart Hunter Biden saying, "Sure, I'll testify...in public."

SWISHER: Yes, I thought it was brilliant actually. Because he's somewhat of an appealing character. People will get to see him for the first time rather than the cartoon. And now, they have to say, "No, we don't want to see you" and after all this time, we get to see Hunter Biden.

On what planet is Hunter Biden making a laughable, toothless threat that he'll only appear in a public hearing "outsmarting" anyone? For Wallace to come up with that framing shows a level of bias that is hard to understand. I know he's not a fan of Republicans these days, but come on, he should at least try to make some sense while propping up the Biden family.

Wallace either has no grasp of the facts on the ground or he's being willfully dishonest. Despite his insane framing and Swisher's gross simping, Hunter Biden does not get to decide what kind of deposition he appears for. He was subpoenaed by Congress, and the subpoena specifically mandates a closed-door session, which is exactly how Democrats handled Trump's impeachment. Being the president's son provides zero immunity from complying with a congressional subpoena and the stipulations therein.

Wallace is supposed to be a newsman, not a cheerleader for a cracked-out degenerate who allegedly abused women and made millions trading on his father's name (possibly illegally in some cases). Could you imagine Wallace throwing up that kind of defense if we were talking about one of Donald Trump's sons? He'd never dream of it.

So why is Wallace pretending Hunter Biden just made some brilliant tactical move by threatening something he has no power to threaten? I can only assume he's sunk so far as a journalist that he's actually rooting for the guy, which is truly something to behold. Are there no standards of decency at CNN? No one its hosts won't defend as long as they are a Democrat? Those are rhetorical questions.
