Newly Revealed Buyers for Hunter Biden's Art Lead to More Corruption Allegations

Bonchie reporting for RedState

There’s a seemingly endless stream of corruption allegations surrounding the Biden family, and another one was added on Monday after multiple buyers for Hunter Biden’s “art” became known.

Following a period of numerous foreign entanglements, some of which may end up being criminal if the DOJ decides to do its job, the president’s son supposedly settled down in California to become a painter. Even prior to revelations about alleged bribery and payoffs from the Chinese, questions were being raised about how Hunter Biden could possibly sell his paintings without it becoming an influence-peddling scheme.

Not surprisingly, it sure looks like that’s exactly what it’s become. According to an exclusive report, Hunter Biden has made at least $1.3 million from his art, but it’s the buyers who are raising eyebrows.

In 2021, when a New York art gallery debuted Hunter Biden’s paintings with asking prices as high as $500,000, the White House said that Hunter Biden’s team had a process for carefully vetting buyers, and that their identities were known only to the gallery, and not to Hunter Biden himself. The messaging seemed to suggest that Hunter Biden’s art patrons came from a rarified universe of collectors who had nothing to do with the hurly burly of politics.

Neither of those things has turned out to be the case. Hunter Biden did in fact learn the identity of two buyers, according to three people directly familiar with Hunter Biden’s own account of his art career. And one of those buyers is indeed someone who got a favor from the Biden White House.

What amateur “artist” have you ever heard of that can sell his paintings for $1.3 million in just a little over a year’s time? Typically, you have to build a name for yourself before garnering that kind of cash, and even then, it’s exceedingly rare to make that kind of income as a painter. Yet, as the report notes, one buyer spent $875,000 on Hunter Biden’s works.

Was that buyer Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali, who was later appointed to a prestigious commission by Joe Biden?

In July 2022, eight months after Hunter Biden’s first art opening, Joe Biden announced Hirsh Naftali’s appointment to the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad. It is unclear whether Hirsh’s purchase of Hunter Biden’s artwork occurred before or after that appointment.

We know that Naftali was one of the buyers, though we don’t know if she was the whale who spent nearly a million dollars on Hunter Biden’s paintings. Her involvement certainly raises some serious questions regarding her appointment by the Biden administration. Why else would someone spend that kind of money on amateur paintings?

The web gets more tangled when you consider Hunter Biden’s past claims of having control over who gets appointed to the commission in question.

In the past, Hunter Biden has privately suggested that he could arrange to have friends seated on the commission. Eric Schwerin, Hunter Biden’s longtime business associate, was appointed to the same post by President Barack Obama in 2015.

Once again, someone involved with Hunter Biden, possibly greasing his palms by buying his art, ends up on the very same commission. Are we supposed to believe that’s a coincidence? There’s way too much smoke here, never mind that the White House broke its promise that Hunter Biden would never be aware of who bought his paintings. He now knows the identities of at least two of the buyers, and they are not detached individuals as the administration said they would be when they set up the anonymous purchasing scheme.

The flagrant way in which the Biden family dabbles in corruption is impossible to ignore. These people truly believe they are above the law, and they might just be right.
