James Comer Slams Hunter Biden, Says Multiple Criminal Referrals Are Coming
Rep. James Comer showed his hand a bit on Friday, revealing that he expects to file multiple criminal referrals against Hunter Biden. That came after an explosive hearing on Wednesday involving two IRS whistleblowers who testified the DOJ sought to protect the Bidens from legal exposure.
Comer broke the news about the coming referrals on Fox Business while also slamming Hunter Biden as the “ultimate white privilege guy.”
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer joked on Thursday that first son Hunter Biden is the “ultimate white privilege guy” after Democrats accused Republicans of appropriating the phrase “two-tier justice system” from the civil rights movement during a congressional hearing on Wednesday.
The Kentucky Republican also revealed that by the time his congressional panel completes its investigation into the Biden family, he expects to file “between six and 10 criminal referrals“ to the Justice Department related to President Biden’s son, including evidence that Hunter Biden violated the Mann Act – a federal law that makes it illegal to transport women across state lines for the purpose of prostitution.
As RedState reported in mid-2022, there is strong evidence that Hunter Biden broke the Mann Act, which prohibits the transport of women across state lines for prostitution (i.e. sex trafficking). During the aforementioned contentious hearing, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene provided receipts showing Hunter Biden paid for a round-trip plane ticket for a woman who he was also paying for sex. Greene then really shocked the room when showed explicit pictures of the president’s son with the woman on the same day to prove that was the purpose of the airfare.
No doubt, that will be a big part of Comer’s pursuit given it seems to have been completely ignored by the FBI. I’d also expect Comer to put forth referrals for FARA violations given Hunter Biden’s involvement with and lobbying for CEFC China, a Chinese-government-run energy firm.
Of course, the question that will be left on everyone’s mind is “What about Joe Biden?” Whether Comer will also have criminal referrals to make against the sitting president isn’t known. It’s possible, given the intricate web of shell companies the Bidens used, that House Republicans do not have the direct evidence to make that move. It’s also a moot point given a sitting president can’t be indicted under current DOJ protocol.
Further, criminal referrals are just that. They are simply referrals and the DOJ is under no obligation to act on them. You can safely assume that anything Comer sends over will be ignored with prejudice. That’s to be expected. The value of Comer’s investigation is not criminal charges but to get all this information out into the public sphere so people can make up their own minds prior to the 2024 election. In that vein, I hope he and his committee have more to reveal. What’s been shown so far is already damning, but the more they build their case, the more likely it is to sway public opinion.
