Liz Cheney Learns a Valuable Lesson About the Far Left During Commencement Speech
Remember when Liz Cheney was going to gain a massive influence following the January 6th hearings, up to and including a possible presidential run? Yeah, well that didn’t happen, as it only took a few weeks after the committee released its anti-climatic report for the former Wyoming congresswoman to become a complete afterthought.
That tends to be the pattern of the left. They will gladly use Republicans for their own political ends before kicking them to the curb. We saw that with Adam Kinzinger, who also served on the January 6th committee. His collaboration didn’t earn him any goodwill, though, as he was promptly redistricted out of his seat by Democrats in Illinois.
Cheney hasn’t suffered quite the fall that Kinzinger has, but there’s no doubt her public profile is extremely narrow at this point. Still, she was invited to give the commencement at her alma mater Colorado College on Sunday, and during the appearance, she learned a valuable lesson about the far left (Daily Mail).
Graduates booed and turned their chairs away from former U.S Rep. Liz Cheney as she delivered the commencement address at Colorado College on Sunday.
Cheney repeated her fierce criticisms of former President Trump but steered clear of talking about his 2024 reelection campaign or her own political future.
The Wyoming Republican blasted her House Republican colleagues for not doing enough to combat Trump’s lies that the 2020 election was stolen.

While many students and parents in the audience applauded throughout Cheney’s remarks, some opposing the choice of Cheney as speaker booed and turned their chairs away from the stage when she spoke.
One graduate’s message to Cheney was splashed on her cap. It read: ‘Why listen to a racist, imperialist, transphobic, war monger?? Your hate is loud.’
There’s no doubt Cheney was trying to hit all the right notes, especially given the audience she was facing. According to reports, she talked about January 6th, lambasted Republicans for a supposed lack of courage, and went after Donald Trump. In other words, she played the hits that have gotten her so much attention over the last several years. And still, Cheney ran into hostility, with students turning their chairs around and wearing messages proclaiming her a “racist, Imperlist, transphobic, warmonger.”
What’s that tell you? It tells you that you can never be radical enough for the far left. There is no level to which a Republican can stoop in trying to please the left wing where they will leave you alone, much less respect you. They will still hate you and try to destroy you. Cheney joined hands with Nancy Pelosi and has made it her mission to destroy the party she once called home, and it wasn’t enough. In the eyes of those she’s tried to court, she’s a “transphobic, warmonger,” and there’s no changing that.
These are the people she chose to make common cause with. I suppose that makes these outbursts against her somewhat ironic, but I’d hope other Republicans get the message. You can not please the left. The moment you try, they will eat you up and spit you out.
