40 years ago today, history was made in an unusual but stunning way 💗

 

In 1982, 1 small determined woman did something truly amazing in the history of cinema. She flawlessly pulled off  the role of a Chinese American man, and in 1983 on this day, became the 1st, and to this day still, the only actor to ever win an Oscar for playing the opposite gender.

Her riveting and awe inspiring acting skills led her to many other great roles in several movies and eventually a few TV shows. And in 2009, it got her the role of a lifetime on a long running and very popular spinoff of a now popular cop show franchise.

Throughout the last 40 years, this amazing woman has proven again and again that it doesn't matter if you're small, or have a disability, or both. You can still be great, or even a legend.

Her name is Linda Hunt (you all know her as Hetty), and she's the Best Supporting Actress from The Year of Living Dangerously! 👏👏👏💗
