What Are They Hiding: Secret Service Response on Biden Visitor Logs Defies Belief
Joe Biden has spent about a quarter of his time in office at his two homes in Delaware. But he’s refused to provide any transparency about who he has been meeting with when he’s been in Delaware. That’s concerning, particularly when as Vice President he met with business associates of his son Hunter, in what appeared to be influence peddling to advance his son’s deals and because some of those deals involved people connected to foreign governments like China.
The NY Post has been trying to get the information through Freedom of Information Act requests to people like the Secret Service. We previously reported on the effort. But the latest response of the Secret Service shows just how much the Biden team is trying to hide the information from Americans. The Secret Service claimed that they don’t have any records responsive to the FOIA request. The Post appealed that, and now the Secret Service is saying they have nothing.
Secret Service deputy director Faron Paramore wrote in a letter dated Sept. 27 that “the agency conducted an additional search of relevant program offices for potentially responsive records.”
“This search also produced no responsive records,” Paramore wrote. “Accordingly, your appeal is denied.”
This of course is nonsense. The Secret Service has to check out visitors to Biden, to make sure that he is safe. So to claim that they have “no responsive records” is to try to suggest to us that they have no records of who is visiting him, that they’re not doing their job checking people out.
Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), who is poised to lead the House Oversight Committee next year if Republicans retake the House, said the Secret Service should hand over records of the president’s guests.
“The claim that there are no visitor logs for President Biden’s Delaware residence is a bunch of malarkey,” Comer told The Post.
“Americans deserve to know who President Biden is meeting with, especially since we know that he routinely met with [first son] Hunter’s business associates during his time as vice president,” Comer said.
“The Biden administration must provide transparency to the American people.”
Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) said there were “national security implications” with Biden’s lack of transparency.
“President Biden denies any involvement in his son’s business dealings, despite indisputable evidence of numerous meetings with his son’s business partners,” Reschenthaler said.
“I am deeply concerned by this blatant conflict of interest and its massive national security implications.”
“It is absolutely crucial that visitor log records for Biden’s homes in Delaware, where he spends a quarter of his time, be released to the public,” the congressman added.
“This administration’s stonewalling and gaslighting must stop. Next year, House Republicans will conduct a fair and transparent investigation into the Biden family’s influence peddling and deliver the American people the answers they deserve.”
Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch declared, “If the Secret Service is doing its job, there has to be visitor records.” “If there aren’t any records, the scandal is much bigger than just a lack of transparency,” he said.
The Post said they were considering legal options now to get the logs.
Biden is supposed to work for us. I know they think this is a royal position and that we don’t have a right to know. But we pay for everything and we have a right to know who he is meeting with. We have a right not to have him and the Secret Service so blatantly lie to us that there are no records. They think we are fools when they try to sling b.s. at us like this and we shouldn’t let them get away with it.
