The lengths the corporate media and the Left will go to protect Stacey Abrams makes the efforts expended to protect Barack Obama look half-hearted by comparison.
Even the Clintons never got this level of air support.
I just don’t get it.
This woman was an unknown state politician who has never won statewide or national office. But these guys protect Stacey Abrams like a Secret Service agent jumping in front of a bullet to protect the president.
Abrams never conceded defeat in her 2018 race for Georgia governor. She’s spent nearly four years peddling her own “Big Lie” about rigged elections. But rather than declare her as an “election denier” who must never hold office, the media and the Left go out of their way to protect Stacey.
And this week, we learned that these guys are willing to become “Science Deniers” just to shield this woman’s fat ass.
The same corporate news media that loses its mind over every supposed “conspiracy theory” from the Right, this week went out of its way to give Stacey cover over her claim that there is no fetal heartbeat at 6 weeks and the ultrasound machines create a “manufactured sound” of a fetal heartbeat just so men can control women’s bodies.
Well, that’s just lunacy.
The corporate news media probably would have preferred to ignore Stacey’s BlueAnon conspiracy theory. But because her lunacy was immediately met with pushback, the Left and the media rushed in to save her.
Planned Parenthood updated its website to reflect Stacey’s lunatic claim.
The abortion mill used to say that during the 5- to 6-week mark, “a very basic beating heart and circulatory system develop.”
But after Stacey’s remarks, Planned Parenthood change it to read that at the 5- to 6-week mark, “a part of the embryo starts to show cardiac activity. It sounds like a heartbeat on an ultrasound, but it’s not a fully-formed heart — it’s the earliest stage of the heart developing.” [bold emphasis Dianny’s]
Meanwhile, “fact-checkers” in the media were quick to protect Stacey as well.
In response to the RNC posting the video of Abrams on Twitter, Washington Post “fact-checker” Glenn Kessler tweeted:
FWIW, “fetal heartbeat” is a misnomer. The ultrasound picks up electrical activity generated by an embryo. The so-called “heartbeat” sound you hear is created by the ultrasound. Not until 10 weeks can the opening and closing of cardiac valves be detected by a Doppler machine.
Radiologist Pradheep J. Shanker, a National Review contributor, replied to Kessler:
Glenn… This is scientifically and medically incorrect. 100%. Ultrasound can’t detect electrical activity. Who told you otherwise?
Ultrasound only detects density and motion. It cannot detect any electrical activity at all. This is a scientific fact.
It is true that the valves in the heart develop later. However, the cardiac muscles that are located in the embryological heart are contracting. They are in fact moving inward and outward. That is how you define a beat.
Is the beat the same as a fully grown adult beat? Of course not. We’re talking early and biological development. However, the cardiac tissue is contracting, which is literally what a beat is. To say otherwise is scientific misinformation, and cannot be treated otherwise.
I recommend @GlennKesslerWP you largely delete this post, completely correct it with somebody who knows the science and actually understands what they are talking about, and issue an apology because this is really a pathetic scientific document.
I can’t believe I have to report a fact checker to Twitter for misinformation. This is what we’ve come to.
We’ve come to this because the corporate media, for reasons I simply cannot understand, is willing to go to any lengths to protect Stacey Abrams.
In a way, I could understand the media’s full-throated defense if Stacey Abrams was the sitting Democrat governor of Georgia or a sitting US Senator. But she isn’t. She’s just a big-mouth Democrat activist who has yet to win statewide office.
The lengths they are going to protect this woman go far beyond the corporate media’s need to protect the Democrat Party’s embrace of unfettered abortion.
Keep in mind, Stacey Abrams has received this level of air cover since she lost her gubernatorial bid in 2018.
Remember how every Democrat presidential candidate traveled to Georgia to kiss her ring in 2019? Come to think of it, that’s what prompted me to dub her “The Female Al Sharpton.”
Every wannabe Democrat nominee repeated the claim that Stacey Abrams was the true winner of the 2018 gubernatorial race. Every single one of them.
For heaven’s sake, the media was even floating this woman as a possible running mate for Joe Biden.
I’m thinking if the media was forced into a Sophie’s Choice situation between Stacey Abrams and any other Democrat, they’d happily sacrifice anyone, including Barack or Michelle Obama, just to protect Stacey.
And I’ll be honest with you. I just don’t get it.
Can somebody explain to me why the media will go to such lengths to promote and protect someone like Stacey Abrams?
Aside from the fact that she is one of those dreaded “Election Deniers,” Stacey has only a razor-thin resume and the political instincts of a rotten banana.
This woman’s political future is so uncertain, I don’t even know if its heartbeat could be detected on an ultrasound.
And yet whenever Stacey’s gap-toothed gob gets her into trouble, these lunatics rush in to provide air cover while the rest of us look on in mystified disbelief.
