It’s not a Presidential Address; it’s a campaign ad

A Presidential Address to the nation shouldn’t be used to
attack half the nation while campaigning for Democrats.

It was reported yesterday that Joe Biden will be delivering a televised primetime presidential address Thursday evening from Philadelphia, ostensibly to talk about “the battle for the soul of the nation.”

But it’s not a presidential address. In reality, it’ll be an extended campaign ad urging Americans to vote for Democrats in November.

And yet, every news outlet will interrupt its regular programming to air this faux presidential address free of charge.

Talk about an abuse of the office.

A primetime presidential address is for something that matters to the entire country, like a response to a foreign attack or a devastating natural disaster. It isn’t so Joe Biden can bang on about how voting for the Democrats will “save democracy.”

This is a campaign speech, nothing else.

Even the Washington Post admits that Biden will use this phony presidential address to lay out what is at stake in the midterm elections.

A White House official told the Post that Biden is going to make it clear who is fighting for our rights and freedoms, and “our democracy.” [Spoiler alert: he’ll say it is the Democrats]

This White House is taking the unique privilege networks extend to the president to coopt regular primetime programming to address the American people and using it to air a lengthy campaign ad free of charge.

For all the screeching we heard about the Logan Act back when Trump was president, how is this not a violation of the Logan Act?

Well, yeah. There’s that too.

Joe Biden is the last person who should be acting like an authority on the “soul of the nation.” This divisive prick has spent the last year and a half vilifying half of the country while disregarding his oath to faithfully execute the laws of the United States.

He will use this supposed presidential address to once again accuse Republicans of being a threat to democracy and freedom. He’ll likely toss around his new term, “MAGA Republicans” like a whole lot of confetti. And I expect his new term, “semi-fascists” will also make an appearance as well.

A primetime Presidential Address to the nation shouldn’t be used to attack half the nation while campaigning for Democrats. But that is precisely what Biden plans to do on Thursday.

If the RNC was smart, it would right now be demanding equal time on every network to respond to old Joe’s scripted campaign attacks.

Any news outlet that wants to maintain even a semblance of impartiality would refuse to air this campaign speech masquerading as a presidential address.

But since most of them already air non-stop campaign content for the Democrat Party, it’s unlikely any of them will refuse.
