How NOT to win back Hispanic voters
The Democrat Party is hemorrhaging support among Hispanic voters. They just lost a solidly Democrat Hispanic district in Texas to a Republican, and polling shows support for President Biden among Hispanics is cratering.
At a time like this, the very last thing Democrats needed was First Lady Jill Biden delivering an agonizingly embarrassing speech to a Hispanic audience at yesterday’s “Latinx IncluXion Luncheon” in San Antonio.
But I am 100% certain the reason Jill went to San Antonio to give that speech was to try and help win back Hispanic voters.
100% certain.
To that end, I can guarantee you that someone in the White House either met with or sent a memo to First Lady Jill’s speechwriters explaining in no uncertain terms that Jill’s speech had to be pitch-perfect.
The White House and the Democrats are in a panic over losing support among Hispanic voters. Jill had to go out there and hit a home run. And instead, the administration got one hell of an unforced error.
If you needed a lesson in how not to win back Hispanic voters, there you go.
It’s simple, really. Don’t compare them to breakfast tacos and “Bo-guh-dahs” in the Bronx.
How do you get “bo-guh-dahs” from bodegas?
Is senility contagious?
Then again, as the stepmother of a crack/cocaine addict, is it any wonder Jill would confuse “bodegas” for the capital of Columbia?
Frankly, the “bo-guh-dahs” mistake is more egregious than comparing Hispanic communities to breakfast tacos.
Did this idiot not take ten minutes to read the speech ahead of time and make certain of her pronunciations?
This is the kind of PR disaster one would expect to see in an episode of Veep.
Lesson number two. If you want to win back Hispanic voters, don’t deploy Jill Biden.
Jill typifies the new Democrat Party base: The AWFLs.
Affluent White Female Liberals are Jill’s métier. She is perfectly suited to appeal to them because she’s one of them.
Unfortunately for Jill, the Democrats aren’t losing support among the AWFLs. If they were, deploying her to give a speech to them would probably be successful, even with her really bad speechwriters.
But Democrats are trying to win back working-class Hispanic voters.
What does First Lady Jill, or her army of staffers for that matter, know about them?
Not one damn thing.
And it shows.
I’d like to say I feel sorry for Jill, but I don’t.
She was so desperate to be First Lady that she forced her senile, doddering old husband to run for president years after his sell-by date. As a result, the country has plunged into economic chaos while an army of twenty-something lunatic leftists run her husband’s administration.
This woman deserves all the derision and public embarrassment we can heap on her.
