DOJ Declines to Prosecute Dem Congressional Staffer for Defacing Posters Outside of Marjorie Taylor Greene's Office

Jennifer Oliver O'Connell reporting for RedState

As RedState reported here and here, nine CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert producers, staffers, and writers were arrested on June 16 for trespassing in the Longworth Congressional Office Building within the Capitol. My colleague Nick Arama informed us that Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) who is a part of the January 6 Committee, and Rep. Jake Auchincloss (D-Mass.) were closely involved:

According to Watters, a Congressional source told them that it was Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) (one of the Jan. 6 Committee members) who had let them in, along with Rep. Jake Auchincloss (D-MA).

Fox News’ Jesse Watters did a revealing segment on Primetime:

On Monday, Just the News reported that Rep. Auchincloss’ chief of staff was involved in more shenanigans at the Capitol involving Republican lawmaker Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Geo.)

Capitol Police caught Massachusetts Democrat Rep. Jake Auchincloss’s chief of staff defacing posters outside the Capitol complex office of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and referred him for criminal charges, but the same U.S. Attorney’s office that pursued the Jan. 6 defendants declined to approve an arrest warrant, according to police documents and interviews.

Police and Auchincloss also confirmed Monday that the congressman’s office was involved in allowing comedian Steven Colbert’s production team into the Capitol complex last week in an incident that led to security concerns and the arrest of seven members of Colbert’s team.

Last year, Taylor Greene hung a controversial poster outside her office that said, “There Are TWO Genders: Male & Female, ‘Trust the Science’,” which triggered her fellow lawmakers and drew much media attention. Apparently, Hysom, who has worked under both Shifty Schiff and Auchincloss, is willingly doing the dirty work in order to keep their fingerprints off this.

The Joke-6 of a hearing is a partisan snooze-fest that no one is watching, so I guess Schiff and Auchincloss needed to spice things up a bit.

In the meantime, Adam Schiff is going on Sunday shows claiming he has evidence that Trump engineered Joke-6. Like we haven’t heard this before.

You cannot make this stuff up.

It doesn’t matter that the same trespassing and damage done by some of the protestors on January 6, 2021, was also done by the Colbert Crew on June 16, and Hysom in March. But as opposed to the J6 defendants, who have been denied due process with some still rotting in jail, Hysom and the Colbert Crew were released on bail, are back at their jobs, and in Hysom’s case, no charges will be filed.

Capitol Police asked federal prosecutors back in March for an arrest warrant for Timothy Hysom, 51, a longtime Democrat congressional staffer who worked for Rep. Adam Schiff before rising to be Auchincloss’s top aide, after capturing Hysom on hidden camera security footage defacing Greene’s posters with stickers with religious messages, according to copy of the arrest warrant obtained by Just the News.

Police said they believed Hysom may have been involved in seven defacing of posters outside Greene’s office in the Longworth Congressional Office Building between January and March and that he declined to be interviewed when confronted. Hysom was offered a “non-custodial interview and he declined and retained counsel,” the report states.

Officials told Just the News that Greene was informed last month that the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington, D.C., which has been the lead prosecutor on Jan. 6 crimes, declined prosecution because it did not believe a federal judge would allow the case to proceed.

The Department of Justice is too busy chasing terrorist parents at school board meetings and working on how to fund out-of-state abortions for its employees to actually pay attention to real crimes, let alone prosecute them.

This is horrific precedent being set by the DOJ. Jane’s Revenge is lodging threats and firebombing pro-life centers, pregnancy resource centers, and churches, yet the DOJ does nothing.

But Taylor Greene is doing what she does best: keep the fires of controversy blazing. If anyone can make sure that someone is held accountable, she can. Taylor Greene chose not to comment to Just the News, and instead is making a statement on Tuesday.

I have the popcorn ready.
