Dems Aren't Going to Like What Trump Has to Say About Kevin McCarthy Leaked Audio

Nick Arama reporting for RedState

Democrats are going to go down to a blistering defeat in November, by all indicators.

The only thing that can harm that is ridiculous infighting from Republicans, and a failure to focus on being all-in to defeat the Democrats.

It looks like people were trying to do exactly that with the leaked audio clip of Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) allegedly saying he thought President Donald Trump should resign after what happened on Jan. 6. The purpose is to hurt McCarthy’s leadership position and hurt Republicans. You can see Democrats all over social media claiming this means that Republicans are “imploding.” They are desperate to deflect from the Biden failures. Liberal media is always trying to hype Republican problems and play gotcha with them, while not covering or spinning Democratic issues.

But just like with most efforts against Trump — how many gotchas is this at this point? — this one looks like it’s going to fail, too. Because President Donald Trump has made it clear that he and McCarthy have already settled any question between them, and McCarthy has been supportive of Trump ever since.

The attempts to paint Republicans as being in rudderless disarray, and caught up in infighting between the former president and potential, next Speaker of the House were quickly put to rest by President Trump himself in an exclusive interview with The Wall Street Journal.

From Townhall:

Trump acknowledged to The Journal that Leader McCarthy “made a call. I heard the call. I didn’t like the call,” but “almost immediately as you know, because he came here and we took a picture right there—you know, the support was very strong.”

And while Trump told The Wall Street Journal that statements claiming he’d taken responsibility for the events of January 6, 2021 were “false” and he “never claimed responsibility,” the former president didn’t hint at any rift such a claim has caused.

When asked about McCarthy’s leadership future within the House of Representatives should Republicans win back a majority, Trump didn’t give a direct endorsement for McCarthy to become Speaker of the House but noted “I don’t know of anybody else that’s running and I think that I’ve had actually a very good relationship with him,” Trump told WSJ. “I like him. And other than that brief period of time, I suspect he likes me quite a bit,” Trump added.

So, Democrats — and Rep. Liz Cheney (RINO-WY) — who were hoping that things are imploding for the Republicans… Not so much; you failed in your latest efforts, yet again.

Meanwhile, Democrats still have to deal with the huge failure that is Joe Biden, and all the messes that he’s made: from inflation to the crisis at the border, which is about to get much worse with the lifting of Title 42. Even Democrats are blasting Joe Biden for that (speaking of imploding), and rightly so, because it’s going to hurt the American people and it’s going to cost them their elections.

As I noted in the breakdown of Biden’s remarks in Seattle, the panic is palpable, Biden even tips his hand at the end of this clip, showing even he knows that the American people don’t want his policies; they want MAGA.
