CNN Host Super-Puzzled by Biden's Dismal Approval Ratings

Mike Miller reporting for RedState

They’re never going to get it, America.

The “journalists” of CNN, I mean. “The Most Trusted Name in News” crowd. Neither will the clown car called MSNBC. These people and others who “think” as they do are incapable of understanding why Joe Biden’s approval ratings continue to swirl down the toilet, at least as fast as their pathetic viewership ratings.

So as Biden’s numbers continue their freefall, it comes as no surprise that CNN’s Fareed Zakaria is beside himself with puzzlement over the whole thing. Yeah, poor Fareed even wrote an op-ed for The Wall Street Journal, which dropped on Thursday, titled The Puzzle of Joe Biden’s Unpopularity.

Pres. Biden has mostly handled his job with intelligence and decency, but he is paying the price for the complicated times we’re living through.

See what I mean? Zakaria always thinks he’s the smartest person in the room, yet it’s incomprehensible to him that Biden just might have something to do with the “complicated times we’re living through.”

Understand — my article is less about Fareed Zakaria than the liberal lapdog media as a whole.

These people will never get it. Think about it. They went through four years of Stage 4 Trump Derangement Syndrome. They counted down the months — more likely, the weeks or even days — until the Great Devil’s Spawn would finally be the hell out of the White House, replaced by a liberal prince, triumphantly riding into the Oval Office atop a great white steed. Instead, they got Joe Biden.

And their dreams of left-wing utopia began to fall apart immediately. I’ll tell you why, in a bit.

So imagine their devastation when Biden’s ratings began to sink like the Titanic. They direct their anger at the American People. That’s what liberal elitists always do; blame tens of millions of patriotic, freedom-loving Americans who are “too stupid” to understand or accept Biden’s brilliance, foresight, and accomplishments. (See: Hillary’s “basket of deplorable,” Obama’s “They cling to guns and religion,” etc.)

“I find President Biden’s unpopularity puzzling,” Zakaria began the op-ed, via The Journal. (Emphasis, mine)

He is rounding out his first year in the White House with the lowest end of first-year approval ratings of any elected president in modern times with the exception of Donald Trump. Why? Biden is a genial, likable person.

Many of the policies he has pursued have been popular, some even with Republican support. The country is doing reasonably well economically, as measures such as declining unemployment, the stock market and interest rates demonstrate.

“So why did the latest CNN average of the polls have him at 45 percent?” Zakaria asked.

Ironically, Zakaria proceeded to answer his own question.

Perhaps Biden’s 11-point drop, from roughly 56 percent after his first 100 days in office to 45 percent today, is a natural result of this inherent lack of political capital.

But it does seem that other factors have weighed in. The timing of his biggest slide in popularity — this summer — coincided with the withdrawal from Afghanistan, the rise of the delta variant and the onset of inflation.

[You got two out of three right, Fareed. But as it relates to COVID, the majority of Americans are sick and tired of the unwarranted hype and fearmongering, yet Biden continues to up the ridiculous ante and it continues to cost him, bigly.]

It’s difficult to parse which was most important, but they seem to collectively have had the effect of telling Americans that life was not back to normal.

Wait — are you kidding? As I said, it’s Biden himself that not only tells Americans life is not back to normal; he purposely keeps life from getting back to normal.

Humorously, Zakaria also made excuses for Biden even being president in the first place.

One has to remember that Biden is something of an accidental president. He got elected for two reasons, neither of which had anything to do with his personal popularity.

First, Barack Obama chose him as vice president, which instantly elevated him in the Democratic field. Second, Donald Trump.

Had these two factors not been present, it’s difficult to imagine Biden in the White House.

But Biden is in the White House, Fareed, and he has purposely created crisis after crisis since day one.

Incidentally, in BREAKING NEWS [sarc], Biden doesn’t think black people have lawyers.

We learned there’s no difference between a black entrepreneur and a white entrepreneur in success, except the black entrepreneur usually doesn’t have a lawyer…

This isn’t the first time he’s said it, as my colleague Nick Arama mentioned earlier.

As to the “Why?” I said I’d answer, Biden and the Democrats woefully misinterpreted the 2020 election as a Democrat mandate. It was anything but. Regardless of what one thinks about Donald Trump, 2020 saw a substantial number of not-Trump votes — which the Democrats misunderstood as for-Biden votes. Just as was the reverse case in 2016 with millions of not-Hillary votes.

It happens in most presidential elections. That is reality.

The fact that poor Fareed Zakaria, the rest of the lapdog media, the White House, and the whole of the Democrat Party don’t understand that reality is a good thing.
