Blindsided by Science
The administration that was going to “shut down” the virus now admits that they were blindsided by the new variants of COVID.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Vice President Kamala Harris admitted that she and the President did NOT see the variants coming. Unlike the popular song, Kamala and Joe weren’t blinded by science, so much as blindsided by science.
“We didn’t see delta coming. I think most scientists did not — upon whose advice and direction we have relied — didn’t see delta coming,” Harris said. “We didn’t see omicron coming. And that’s the nature of what this, this awful virus has been, which as it turns out, has mutations and variants.”
How could these two idiots not see this coming?
Do you mean to tell me that Kamala Harris is just now discovering that viruses have mutations and variants?
Earth to Kamala: viruses mutate. It’s what they do to survive.
You don’t have to be a virologist to understand that viruses mutate. But these two yutzes who vowed to “follow the science” were completely blindsided.
“Coronavirus did what viruses do, and we didn’t see it coming” isn’t exactly the most encouraging thing to hear coming from the people who ran promising to get the virus under control.
Though, this might explain why they have failed to accomplish anything else in the last eleven months. They still haven’t accomplished the “first thing” they were going to do.
And there are no scientists who were blindsided. Kamala is lying about that. Scientists, even those working with the White House, have said that coronavirus would mutate and new variants would develop. They’ve been saying that all along because THAT’S WHAT VIRUSES DO.
It isn’t so much that Kamala was blindsided. It’s that Kamala knows she and Biden oversold what they were going to accomplish if voters handed them the White House. So, instead of changing course, she’s pretending that nobody could’ve predicted that coronavirus would mutate.
It’s the virus’ fault Kamala and Joe failed, don’t you see.
And, as is often the case when Kamala Harris opens her mouth and inserts … her foot, an unnamed advisor from her office had to walk back her statement on Saturday, explaining to CNN that the administration knew all along that mutations were possible. What Kamala meant was they didn’t see those two specific variants coming.
LOL! Get out of here with that bullshit “clarification.”
Scientists have said that eventually, COVID would mutate to a more transmissible, but less harmless strain. Omicron is that strain. According to Bloomberg, while Omicron is the dominant variant in South Africa, hospitalizations fell by 91% compared to the Delta variant. About 19% of Delta variant cases ended up in the hospital. But with Omicron, only 1.7% ended up hospitalized.
This is exactly how a virus behaves. Nobody who is “following the science” would have been blindsided by Omicron.
What’s more, Omicron is great news. It is a sign that COVID is becoming endemic. In other words, Omicron points to the end of the pandemic. Though admittedly, you wouldn’t know that from the way this administration is overreacting to Omicron.

No, this is about making excuses. Both Kamala and Joe campaigned on what a terrible job Donald Trump supposedly did responding to a once-in-a-century pandemic. Both of them vowed that they had a plan and would “control” the virus. Only, they made things worse.
They bungled their vaccination plan, offered up mixed messages from the start, and responded by demonizing and dividing people based on vaccination status.
In short, they fucked it up. So they’re scrambling to make excuses.
