The Trump of Their Nightmares
The ResistanceLOL in the American news media painted a terrifying picture of Trump, didn’t they? He was the Monster Trump, the Trump of their nightmares — an evil authoritarian Nazi who would end America as we know it.
The Trump of their nightmares targeted his political opponents with retribution.
The Trump of their nightmares weaponized the Justice Department to go after his enemies. He made it a “Dangerous Time to Tell the Truth in America.”
The Trump of their nightmares wanted to control people’s bodies and turn America into a dystopian world like A Handmaid’s Tale.
I wrote back in 2018 “The media-created Trump doesn’t exist.” He was a figment of their fevered imaginations – a made-for-TV Monster who bore no resemblance to the real Donald Trump.
But the authoritarian monster the media screeched about for four years finally does exist.
The Trump of their nightmares emerged fully formed, if slightly senile when Joseph Robinette Biden was sworn in as President. All the scary things they claimed Monster Trump’s Administration would do are being done by the Biden Administration.
And the press that spent four years warning about an authoritarian President is today either cheering it on or oddly silent.
In 2019, Jim Acosta wrote the book “Enemy of the People: A Dangerous Time to Tell the Truth in America.” It wasn’t a dangerous time for reporters during the Trump years. But it is now.
When the news broke that the FBI, working with the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York raided the homes of journalists from Project Veritas, I thought to myself, Jim Acosta finally has an example to talk about.
Only it isn’t Monster Trump who weaponized the DOJ to target journalists; it’s Joe Biden.
It isn’t Trump who is using the DOJ and the FBI to protect members of his family. It’s Joe Biden.
Joe Biden is the Trump of Jim Acosta’s nightmares. But Jim is oddly silent.
The FBI raided the homes of Project Veritas journalists over a diary belonging to Joe Biden’s daughter Ashley which she claimed was stolen from her.
Since when does federal law enforcement trouble itself with petty theft?
This is not in any way a federal crime. But Joe Biden’s FBI and DOJ are investigating it because the diary belongs to Joe’s daughter. That’s it. That’s the whole reason.
And they are willing to target American journalists to do it.
Project Veritas didn’t steal the diary. Project Veritas didn’t even report on the diary. Some “tipsters” brought the diary to them, but because they couldn’t authenticate it, they turned it over to law enforcement.
Sources give procured documents to reporters all the time. The New York Times published Donald Trump’s tax records just last year. Did anybody from the FBI raid the homes of the NYT reporters who wrote the story?
But Project Veritas, and let me say it again, did not report on Ashley Biden’s diary. They turned it over to law enforcement. But the FBI raided the homes of its journalists over a diary Project Veritas did not steal or report on.
We finally have an authoritarian President who targets his political opponents for retribution and uses the full force of the Justice Department to protect his family.
Only it isn’t Donald Trump. It’s Joe Biden.

Paging Jim Acosta!
Has a single member of the press who spent four years wringing their hands over the fictitious Monster Authoritarian Trump raised a single objection to this abuse of federal power and violation of the First Amendment?
Is Rachel Maddow sounding the alarm about the dangerous authoritarian tendencies of this administration? Is she accusing the Biden family of being just like a mafia crime family?
Where is the New York Times op-ed decrying this threat to Press Freedom?
We get crickets.
“This is not the fetch-it bureau for First Families.” It is now.
This more than anything shows you just how disingenuous the four years of media fearmongering was. They all knew Trump wasn’t the authoritarian they portrayed him to be. What’s more, the media ResistanceLOL wasn’t really the defender of freedom it claimed to be.
These guys aren’t bothered by an authoritarian President who infringes on press freedom so long as the authoritarian plays for their team.
