The White House must be concerned that Joe Biden is looking like a lame duck president. But can you blame them?

Biden’s agenda is already on life support. If he is perceived as a 1-term lame duck, they might as well pull the plug.

How else do you explain Jen Psaki confirming yesterday that the 79-year-old broken down all crock intends to run for reelection? It certainly isn’t because they want him to.

Biden would be 81 on election day 2024. As it is he is the oldest man ever sworn in as president. There is no way in hell the Democrats want an 81-year-old man at the top of the ticket – especially one who is operating on less than 10% capacity.

Everyone in the White House knows he is a lame duck. But less than one year into his only term, there is no benefit to admitting that Joe came with a 4-year expiration date. What little momentum remaining in this administration would dry up overnight.

If Joe, and more importantly his handlers, truly planned a 2024 reelection bid, the White House and the Democrats wouldn’t be in a full-bore panic over Kamala Harris’ crumbling approval and blinding incompetence. They wouldn’t be positioning Pete “I’m Gay!” Buttigieg to replace her as heir apparent.

No, this is all about lame duck panic.

Joe Biden isn’t running again in 2024.

Now, I think Joe is serious when he says he’ll run for reelection. He is deeply vain. He still operates under the delusion that he is a smart, savvy political powerhouse in the prime of life rather than a decrepit, shuffling old coot two decades past his sell date.

The people in charge at the White House know better. Joe will be put out to pasture in favor of a newer model. But they’ll play along with vain Joe just to avoid the stink that comes with being a lame duck administration.
