Email Looks Like the Smoking Gun Against Biden on Kabul Evacuation Debacle

Yesterday evening Senator Josh Hawley released an email (via Twitter) showing the evacuation guidelines given by the administration to the U.S. officials on the ground in Kabul Afghanistan.  The email details quoted instructions to Gregory A Floyd from someone in the administration speaking on behalf of Joe Biden.

As noted by Hawley: “This email was shared w/ me by an American official present in Afghanistan during the evacuation who was shocked by Administration’s failure to vet Afghans before they were evacuated. Email details orders from Joe Biden to fill up the planes – even without vetting:”

Team,

President Biden phoned Ambassador Wilson with the following directive about who to clear to board evacuation flights.

“1. Anyone with a valid form of ID should be given permission to go on a plane if that person plausibly falls into the categories we will evacuate: U.S. citizens and LPRs plus their immediate families, LES plus their immediate families, those entitled to an SIV, and Afghans at risk.

2.  Families including women and children should be allowed through and held to fill out planes.

3.  Total inflow to the U.S. must exceed the number of seats available.  Err on the side of excess.”

This guidance provides clear discretion and direction to fill seats and to provide special consideration for women and children when we have seats. I expect that C17 flight volume will increase.

Thank you.

Greg

When Biden initially began evacuating people out of the Kabul airport, Biden was supposed to be getting out American citizens and those who helped us during the war including SIV holders. But initially the numbers were low going out on the planes and people noticed, as we reported and Biden was getting hammered for the half-empty planes and being chastised for not having gotten our allies out earlier.

But then the Biden team started getting more on the planes. Yet he ended up not only leaving hundreds of Americans, he also ended up leaving over 80,000 SIVs, as well as other people who had helped America.

So who did he get out? I’ve always believed that when he started getting flack for not getting people out, they started putting pretty much anyone they could on the plane to pump up the numbers so it could look like he was getting people out. Whether they were the people we were supposed to get out or not, vetted or not, despite them claiming they had carefully vetted everyone. Meanwhile that very action of taking other people meant that even more people would crash the airport hoping to get out and blocking the people who deserved to get on the flights because they helped America.

Now Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) has released an email of an internal administration communication pretty much showing that and that Joe Biden himself directed people to be put on planes whether they were vetted or not and even if they hadn’t helped America.

“This email was shared [with] me by an American official present in Afghanistan during the evacuation who was shocked by administration’s failure to vet Afghans before they were evacuated,” Hawley said. “Email details orders from Joe Biden to fill up the planes—even without vetting.”

The email was from Gregory Floyd on Wednesday, August 18. Floyd was the Consul General at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul. He’d only been on the job since July according to his LinkedIn page. Quick on the job training there. Here’s what it said.

This makes it very clear they were being deceptive about who they were getting out and likely lying when they said they were vetting everyone. “Afghans at risk” and “Families with women and children” are categories that don’t have to have any relation to helping America and wouldn’t have any prior vetting it they were just showing up at the airport. It was clear the goal was simply to fill the seats – right people or not.

From Free Beacon:

Hawley pressed the issues on Tuesday during a Senate hearing with Colin Kahl, the Pentagon’s undersecretary for defense policy and the administration official largely responsible for overseeing the Biden administration’s botched evacuation.

“We now know that we’ve got major problems of vetting of the people who were brought to this country, who were evacuated and brought to this country,” Hawley said. “So, you testified in September that those evacuated, about 6,000 American citizens, you testified in September that the [Special Immigrant Visas] were about 1,200 to 1,300, that leaves about 116,700 people, based on the 124,000 neo-number that you’ve been offering, 116,700 people who were not citizens, who were not SIVs, and we just don’t know much about who were those people?”

Kahl, in response to Hawley’s questions, said that about 84 percent of the Afghans evacuated by the Biden administration were deemed to be at risk under Taliban rule. “It’s a mishmash of a lot of different categories,” Kahl said.

So if 84% of the people rescued of that 124,000 number were “at risk” meaning not necessarily having any relation to helping America at all – 104,160 of those they got out fell into that category, assuming that number is accurate. And they wonder why there are now reports of problems? They basically threw random people on the plane – who knows who they are – from a country with a bunch of terrorists as well. And maybe what’s most despicable about all this – while Biden was doing it to try to cover himself and make it look like he was getting out people – the real people he was supposed to get out, tens of thousands, are still trapped.
