NYT: Kamala’s not ready for the Majors; let her play T-Ball

Even the New York Times knows Kamala is in over her head.

When Kamala Harris ran for President in 2019, she liked to ask “Are voters ready for a woman of color as President.” I answered her question on November 4, 2019 saying “It’s not voters who aren’t ready, Kamala; it’s you.” Expecting Kamala Harris to step into the role of President is like expecting a T-ball player to bat in the Majors.

Kamala Harris wasn’t ready for the Majors in 2019. And she’s no closer to being ready in 2021.

Funnily enough, the New York Times appears to agree with me that Kamala Harris is out of her league.

The NYT yesterday published an op-ed by Fordham University political scientist Christina Greer titled “Dear Kamala Harris: It’s a trap!” The gist of which is, President Biden seems to be giving Kamala Harris assignments that make her look bad.

In citing President Biden handing Kamala the mess at the border as an example, Greer flat-out admits that Kamala has “no deep expertise with Latin American issues or the decades-long quandary of federal immigration reform.”

So in other words, Biden gave her a job fit for the Majors when poor Kamala is barely fit for T-ball.

Greer bemoans what she sees as Kamala’s no-win situation. Calling her an “historic yet inexperienced vice president,” Greer complains that Harris is “taking on work that can easily backfire.”

Yes, presidents are often put in difficult situations that might backfire. The nerve of President Biden doing that to poor Kamala!

It really bothers Greer that Biden keeps handing the Vice President of the United States jobs fit for a leader because, to Greer’s way of thinking, Kamala isn’t capable of handling them. To rectify this problem of Kamala not being ready for the Majors, Greer believes Biden should assign T-ball-level tasks so that Kamala can have a hit.

After all, Harris is, according to Greer, Biden’s “heir apparent.” He should be giving “her chances to get some wins.” But no! Instead, Greer complains “it’s the hardest of the hard stuff.”

Greer wants Kamala to stay in the Majors, only when she gets up to bat, Biden should let her play by T-ball rules.

Yup. That’ll certainly prepare her for becoming President and Commander-in-Chief.

But Greer thinks this needs to be done because in 2024, “countless male Democratic senators and governors will challenge Ms. Harris for the nomination.”

Like Harris herself, Greer questions whether or not voters would be ready to vote for a woman of color.

“Many voters do not see women of color, and Black women specifically, as capable of executive leadership,” Greer whines, “as evidenced by the lack of any Black female governors in the history of the United States.”

Apparently the way to “prove” Kamala Harris is capable of executive leadership is to give her easy assignments any dope incapable of executive leadership could handle.

I mean, I almost feel sorry for Greer at this point.

Greer acts as if getting the southern border crisis under control is some kind of Kobayashi Maru-style no-win situation.

But it isn’t.

The southern border was under control thanks to President Trump. The Biden Administration caused this crisis by revoking every Trump policy in place that stemmed the flow of illegals across our border. The Biden Administration halted construction of the border wall, ended the “Remain in Mexico” agreement, and effectively laid out the welcome mat.

Solving the problem is as easy as reinstating every Trump policy Biden revoked.

I’m not ready for the Majors either, but even I understand that.

I actually believe Greer thinks she’s making a powerful case for a Kamala Harris presidency here. Which, when you get right down to it, is all kinds of hilarious. The woman is advocating for putting training wheels on the Vice President because she isn’t ready to go it alone.

That isn’t the strong defense Greer thinks it is.

Joe Biden vowed that he would select a running mate who would be ready to step into the role of President on Day OneTM. When he announced Kamala as his choice, Biden proudly declared that she was “the best person” to “lead this nation starting in January 2021.”

Christina Greer is acknowledging what I wrote earlier this month: Joe chose poorly.

The only problem is Greer believes the best solution is to take this woman out of the Majors, put her on the T-ball team, then hope like hell when Joe crumbles she doesn’t strike out.

That is a recipe for disaster.
