Liz Cheney’s transformation is nearly complete
It’s like a nightmare version of the TV show “Extreme Makeover.” Except instead of witnessing the transformation of an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan, America is witnessing the transformation of Liz Cheney into a Pelosi puppet.
Listen, this isn’t about Liz Cheney’s commitment to principles or the Constitution. If you want to defend the Constitution, you would fight like hell to prevent a transformation like this.
It isn’t like Liz is some newbie unfamiliar with how Nancy Pelosi operates. She’s been in Congress for four years now. And even before she got elected to the House, Liz was a political insider, not some random small businesswoman in Wyoming who was completely naïve to just what a venal witch Nancy Pelosi is.
And yet here we are watching the transformation of an allegedly intelligent woman into a Pelosi corncob before our very eyes.
Yesterday when Pelosi rejected two of Kevin McCarthy’s choices for her highly partisan January 6 witch hunt committee, whom did Liz Cheney attack?
Kevin McCarthy.
Liz even accused one of the two rejected Congressmen of being “implicated” in the melee that Liz, like her personal Svengali, continues to call an “insurrection.”
And just like Pelosi, Cheney has no problem lying through her teeth.
There’s nothing worse than watching the transformation of a once-respected Republican lawmaker into a bitter, vindictive fishwife. But there you have it.
Liz is like every Democrat in Congress. Hatred of Donald Trump fuels her every action and word and so distorts her picture of reality, she has no idea what’s going on.
She is so blinded by her loathing of the man, she believes the reason Republicans object to Pelosi’s politically-motivated get-out-the-vote effort disguised as a “select committee” is because they place “loyalty to Trump” over “loyalty to the Constitution.”
Yeah, no. That’s not it at all. Not everybody is as fixated on Trump as you are, Liz.
Opposing this clearly partisan witch hunt has much more to do with remaining loyal to reality.
And the reality is the 3-hour disturbance at the Capitol on January 6 was not an insurrection. It was not an attempt to “overthrow our democracy.” And it sure as hell wasn’t “the worst thing to happen since the Civil War.”
Was it disruptive? Yes.
Were lawmakers and their staff frightened? I’m sure they were.
But what happened on that day was no different from what happened over the course of several days during the Kavanaugh confirmation hearing. And those protesters got a hell of a lot closer to members of Congress than anyone from January 6 did.
During the Kavanaugh melees, two screeching harpies trapped former Senator Jeff Flake in an elevator, for crap’s sake.
Okay, there were some differences. A Capitol Hill police officer shot and killed an unarmed protester on January 6 whereas no Capitol Hill police officer tried to stop those two screeching harpies from getting in spitting distance of Jeff Flake.
The other difference is the media, and the Democrats, celebrated the screeching harpies – even giving them interviews after their star-turn attacking Flake in the elevator. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez even brought one of them as her guest to Trump’s 2019 State of the Union Address.
Nobody in the media, and certainly no politicians, are celebrating the people who mobbed the Capitol on January 6 – well, except for the Antifa guy who was there. The media not only interviewed him later that day, they paid him good money to use the video he made of Ashli Babbitt’s shooting.
But the biggest reality is that Nancy Pelosi and every other Democrat in Congress, plus the White House and the media, hope to gain political advantage in the Midterms by keeping this brief disruption front and center by using this highly partisan, politically-motivated select committee.
Anyone grounded in reality understands all of that.
But Liz Cheney doesn’t. Her transformation is nearly complete.
And once you go Pelosi, there’s no coming back to reality.
